Some thoughts....

I thought Rodgers played well as expected. I think people were getting on him for the wrong reasons over the last two weeks and it was nice to see him come out and play the way he did. The offensive line was better. It's not great or good or average, but it was better. I was very disappointed in the mental breakdowns by Chad Clifton. Two false starts and two illegal procedures. He's got to correct that. T.J. Lang filled in nicely for him. I think he should be this teams RT of the future. I'm not sure he'll be able to play on the left side. We'll see.

The running game is becoming a concern. Clearly, GB gameplanned to throw against Detroit and I get that, but this team needs balanced. Part of the problem with he offensive line is that defensive lineman can just tee off on Rodgers. They know it's a throw and defensive coordinators are now calling blitzes because it's predictable. Next week would be a perfect time to get Ryan Grant involved and Brandon Jackson too. Cleveland is 30th against the run.

I kind of felt the defense was getting nitpicked because of who picked them apart Monday Night. It's a work in progress, but a couple of stats to chew on.

8th in total yards
10th in points
16th against the rush.

All improvements compared to last year. I continue to be impressed with Clay Matthews. He keeps playing like this, he may get some defensive rookie of the year votes. Kampman played better. For once the Packers made an adjustment. The put his hand on the ground and he was much better. It was liked he was a caged animal set free. Secondary had it easy without Calvin Johnson, but an Atari Bigby sighting....

Overall, Packers beat an inferior opponent. If they were playing someone better and played like this, the game would be very close. It's a win, but GB needs to start peaking. The have one more week where they can get away with some of these mistakes.

Penalties can be added to offensive line woes as GBs biggest problem. It's just getting ridiculous. Personally, the coaching staff needs to make this a focus on the week.

thought it was a pathetically sloppy win against a broken-down, battered up version of an already shitty team. was certainly not a win i felt excited about. sure, i'll take it...but that's as emotional as i can get about it (beyond some of the fantastic plays by certain individuals like Matthews, Driver and Jennings).

on a related note: i thought that since we were 2-1 in our division that would put us up at the #2 spot in the NFC North after the Bears lost (lol) last night. can anybody explain to me why Nfl.com has us listed at 3rd? i can't figure this one out. :/

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Because the national media hates the GBP. We are in second place. One of our losses was to an AFC team whereas the Bears have lost twice in the conference.

I think it's because they order it by the team name in alphabetical order. No real idea other than that.

Yes, the standings page on NFL.com apparently lists the team alphabetically by rank. It isn't programmed to account for the intricacies of tiebreakers. If the Packers want to bump off the Bears and move into second place, they're going to have to amass a better record.

Throw the ball to set up the run, that is what GB did yesterday, 90yds rushing by Ryan Grant, wear down the defense and then pound the ball.

Look at all the great runnining backs(and I am not calling RG great),their numbers go up as the game goes on.

I liked the game plan, still some of the same old mistakes being made, I guess we will just have to live with them.

41 minutes of possession is great.

Playmakers making plays.(DD one more time CONGRATS!!!)

This team is not built to pound the ball down someones throat, facts are facts, that doesn't mean they can't control the ball.

Defense was solid, even though they continually are being picked apart, by the fans. 26-0, can't complain about that.

Be careful this week, taking The Browns as an easy win, they are at home, they do have a decent running game, and if Anderson is having a good day The Browns can be dangerous.

This is the 2nd of 4 must win games, take them 1 at a time, try to improve, and let's see where The Pack is after week 8.

I just wanted to point this out. I was able to read Non's post without adding to the hit counter at Dictionary.com ... good start to the week!
