I've stated it in other threads, next 4 games are must wins, if The Pack comes out flat against The Lions and get beat, MM will be fired, Ted Thompson will make Capers interim head coach in an atempt to save his own ass.

I personally am tired of the same old excuses, the lack of veteran leadership, the lack of any fire in the HC.

It is still early, but how long can we as fans wait?

Several on this forum have been screaming it since week 2, WHAT IS BEING DONE IS NOT WORKING!!!!

I say to MM and Ted Thompson if you are to stubborn to change what you are doing, then it is time for you both to be gone, I to do not want to relive another 20 year period of mediocracey and young teams"full of potential".

There are examples of teams turning things around in one year, I say 5 years is long enough.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

As it's well documented, I don't care for Ted too much, but do I like the majority of his moves. With that said, I think it might be time to seriously start evaluating our HC position, if its not being done already.

I'm 100% down with bringing Bill Cowher in here (will NOT happen, but I can hope).

I do like, well, did like McCarthy until I watched a press conference of his from last year and could have sworn it was from this year. What does that tell you? Same shit, same result, not working, FIX IT!

Z2C, The reason I put in the " I disliked Thompson from day 1", is because most people on this board seem to think that if you are anti Thompson is because of the Brett Favre issue.
I actually supported Ted Thompson on that issue and I still do.

I'm not sure he has built a "core".

I agree luck plays a big part of it and we have't had much since 07.

I don't think we have too many of those people on this board anymore. I think most see that Rodgers was the right choice for the long term.

I'm confident he's built a core, but we lack the star talent to benefit from it. Know what I mean?

In general, I'm not a fan of writing up pink slips 4 games into a season, especially when the team has won 2 of those 4 games (and no I don't care whether they were pretty wins or not - no style points in pro ball).

However.

Thompson: I know a lot of people don't like him, for a variety of reasons. But I don't think realistically we'll see anything happen with his position. He's rebuilt the core of the team and managed the cap extremely well. Yes, he does have flaws - OL, S, RB, all of those were correctly pointed out. Yes, he does NEED to open up his own playbook some, grow a pair, and start participating in free agency - this is his most glaring weakness, in my opinion. Still, I don't think he'll lose his job.

McCarthy: He should be on the hot seat, if he isn't already. My understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that coaching staff changes are his call. Jettisoning Sanders and bringing in Capers - good move. Shaking up ST coaching - good call. Standing pat on the offensive coaches - huh? The lack of serious talent on OL is on Thompson partially, but I think the problem is more coaching and scheme than it is lack of talent. Since they brought the ZBS in it's been problematic - they're still trying to use it. Bad move.

I would say that if the penalties and poor OL play continue the rest of the season, Mike could get run and would deserve it. Lack of preparedness for the big games, same thing. A great deal of what's killing us falls on McCarthy's shoulders. I think he's a fine coach, but for whatever reason he's not getting through to his players, and that's a problem.

All that said, we're 2-2 and we've got 12 more games to play - I'm not ready to concede this season yet, personally.

It's time for a change in leadership in Green Bay.
I lived through the 70's and 80's.
I honestly never thought it could happen again but things are starting to look eerily familiar.

I can assure you that this isn't the 70's and 80's. It's not like they spin a big wheel with 5 options on it, and you get stuck in one of the old stories that have played out in the past with the team. Every situation is new. At least take that as comfort.

He brought in Atari Bigby and Nick Collins so I can't really fault him for his knowledge of safeties. OL and RB, yes. Grant had one really good year, another year that was 'good' but I don't think we're going to see 1,500 yards out of him with 50 catches and combined 12 TD's which is what I'd like to see.

It is too early to hand out pink slips. My beef is if we continue this path again for another year, it's time to move on. How many times can you beat your head against a wall before you realize that your head ache you've been complaining about comes from the banging of your head against said wall?

I do not want to concede the season either. I think once we get Clifton, Tauscher and Bigby back we'll be a different team. I would like to hear something different from McCarthy and the staff instead of the same things we heard the last two years.

I'm with you on that - I have listened to/watched 2 MM pressers, and I won't be watching any more. I'm not liking what I'm seeing from him (again) this season, whether it's keeping the ZBS and guys like Campen or the iffy playcalling. And I do wonder if he's losing this team.

I have some hope they'll turn this around and compete yet this season - if they don't, you kind of have to look at McCarthy and wonder if it's time for a change.

One thing, though - I don't want to see any "big name" guys replacing him. No Holmgren or Shanahan (dear God, not him). Well, maybe Cowher... nah.

I don't like our RB's but I know they are capable of being successful when the Oline blocks. ZBS is dependent on the line blocking. It is the line that makes them look like shit. Getting hit 2 yards deep in the backfield isn't good and that happens way to often.

Our LBers are not bad at all. But they also are dependent on the line in front of them. Ray Lewis looked like crap when his line sucked. The problem right now is the 2 down lineman. 2 will never occupy 5.

Ted has brought in lineman, only problem is he has been looking for the type of lineman that the coaches want. And McCarthy wants guys for the scheme. Switch scheme and I think Ted can get the right guys in.

If they don't switch up something I have no problem getting rid of them, and would help with the packing.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Correct, in this age of free agency, a GM can go get players in the off season.
Guys he feels will help take the team to the next level.

Before Fa, a team pretty much had to rely on good drafting and the ability to make trades that would help the team.(something that The Packers of the 70's and 80's did not do very well)
