Monday night I'll be at the dome cheerin' on the Pack. And one fact that will unquestionably dominate my mind is that my favorite player of all-time will take the field with revenge against the Green Bay Packers on his mind. Sorry, Brett -- I drew the line in the sand when you went to the Vikes. Why are you seeking approval, Brett? What the hell is there LEFT to prove? Is this all worth the price you latently prove ?-- that you don't know how to leave the game.
At first I was going to wear my Al Harris jersey. It is, no matter the case, one of my favorite jerseys -- though there are only three [so far]: said Al Harris, [obligatory] Brett Favre, and a throwback Reggie White. I can't wear the Favre jersey for obvious reasons. But I didn't want to wear the Reggie White jersey because I was afraid of getting mustard/beer/etc. "accidentally" spilt on me. The White jersey is, after all, of considerably more value than the Harris jersey (not necessarily sentimental value -- I'm talking about greenbacks, here). So I had conceded that I would cheer on Big Al with my #31 jersey. If something were spilt on it, at least it was a cheaper jersey.
And then, a sudden change of heart. I can't live in fear. I can't let the terrorists win. F**k it, I'm wearin' the Reggie White jersey.
Come Monday night, my fellow Packer brethren in attendance will need a shining beacon of light 🇲🇪 in their vicinity. I will be calling out plays before the snap (as I often do), I will furiously AND gentlemanly deconstruct the pithy, generalized and ultimately-foreseeable arguments that the drunk, stupid, and likely fat idiot Vikings fans sling at me, and I will do so with gusto with the Minister of Defense on my torso! Try your mighty best Viqueens, the Pack offense is going to wake up for real Monday night. Gregorious and co. will unleash unholy hell upon you. Hunker down, Viqueens -- you'll need a bunker mentality come Monday night. 'Cause the Pack are coming to town looking NOT for a fight, but a WAR!
How surreal will Monday night feel for me? Oh, I think it'll rank up there among the surrealist. Do I seem a little pumped?
