He (Aaron Rouse) took a poor leverage angle on the third-and-34 screen the Bengals converted, then was supposed to be playing deep zone on the next play, when (Carson) Palmer hit WR Chad Ochocinco for 44 on a flea-flicker. In Rouses defense, ILB Brandon Chillar also took a bad angle on the screen and CBs Charles Woodson and Al Harris overbought on the flea-flicker not surprising, given the Packers struggles stopping the run. But Rouse also erred on WR Chris Henrys 5-yard TD catch, showing a lack of vision as he looked for a quick pass and Henry ran free on an in behind him.



Sounds like he is one to blame for the mishap. If true, good cut. 🙂 (hey we all need a scapegoat right?)

and if i remember correctly it was one of many over his career, i would've probably waited after this week to release but to each their own hopefully this pans out

Not naming names, but there should be at Minimum of 2 safeties, 2LBers, 1 CB to blame for that play. running that far on a screen there are to many to blame. Shit even big ole Jenkins was able to get there forcing a fumble. Them smaller quicker guys should have been able to get there. as well.

Not naming names, but there should be at Minimum of 2 safeties, 2LBers, 1 CB to blame for that play. running that far on a screen there are to many to blame. Shit even big ole Jenkins was able to get there forcing a fumble. Them smaller quicker guys should have been able to get there. as well.

It's more accurate to blame Rouse because it makes sense. Poor angles are kind of his forte. There's 11 vs 11 and each player has an assignment. That CB is being blocked by the WR. etc.

Overall, yes, fail to contain falls on all 11, but specifically ... it's on Rouse from what I've seen.

I'm not sure of the personnel package we had employed. 1 - 5 - 5, 2 - 24 - 5 ... no clue. I just can't reasonably put the blame on half the defense for it. A TE shouldn't run 20+ yards from a screen untouched. If Rouse takes a better angle, tackles him, we don't have this discussion.

3rd and 34 brings back memories of 4th and 26. Don't know how they give those up but they did. However with people like Nick Barnett celebrating for joy over 1 tackle even after the D has been sucky , im shocked we dont give more of these types of plays up. As barnett is more concerned with tweeting, I wonder what the rest of the D is concerned with?, surely isn't the game. They should make a rule you only get paid if you win(that would't work because they already think they don't get paid enough for playing football).

The reason I am blaming all of them, is because this wasn't a fast WR or RB, it was a damn 265lb TE. There is no reason that the only player to catch him was a 300lb Dlineman. There were to many fuck ups to mention IMO.

I need to find a video of this to give a better assesment, but can't seem to find it anywhere. It isn't even in the highlights that I can find.
