Do I think Tausch was our best lineman last year before he got hurt? Yes.

But part of that was because the rest were...well, the rest. Even before the injury I don't think he was having a great year. I thought he was pro bowl level before last year, but I just don't think he was up to those standards even before he was hurt.

Would a healthy tausch of last year be better than the alternatives right now? No question. Would he be enough to make me stop ranting about our OL woes? Unlikely. I'd just be talking about how the rest suck.

He has had his workouts, said he was looking into one other team, a significant portion of the NFL is in desperate (personally I think we are the MOST desperate, but it's an opinion) need of his services...

Aaron Rodgers leads the NFL with 10 sacks. Brady Quinn the medicine woman is #2 with 9 sacks. So I'd venture to say that yes, we are the most desperate as of week 2.

I can't believe that the Packers haven't even brought anyone in for a workout.
If they truely let Meredith get signed off the practice squad when they are in such dire straits makes this whole mess even more puzzling.

Yep we do have 3 fullbacks on our 53 man roster. We should put 2 of them every play to protect Aaron Rodgers till we can get out O LINE figured out. We did this when Favre was still with us, to protect him we did max protect soo.. back to square one till things get settled and cleared up.

I dissagree with the max protection, everyone knows the playmakers on this team are the WR's.

4 and 5 wr sets, spread out the d, if Aaron Rodgers is only going to have 2-3 seconds to get rid of the ball, then you just keep hitting that short slant that will be open, if it is not throw the ball away and try again next play.

I said before the season started I wantd Aaron Rodgers to be over 5000 yds, if he was this team would be successful.

This goes against every rule in the book, but when 5 and 7 step drops are not going to work, then why keep beating a dead horse?

1 or 3 step drop if the play isn't there, throw it away and go again, can't be any worse than what has transpired so far.

C'mon Mike, show a little inginuity.

Nerd is officially declaring the zBS system to be a FAILure.
It's the weak link on this team and has held us back for years.

It's a weird time to attack the ZBS. The last two games our tackles have been dominated in one-on-one matchups.

Not to mention the fact that during the last game, when Ryan Grant ran into the end zone untouched, they were running the ZBS.

As for those who are saying that Tauscher would be unquestionably better than what we have on the roster, I beg to differ. Like I've been saying for at least a week now, my rationale for not wanting to bring in Tauscher is exactly same as dfosterf provides for wanting Tauscher over Runyan. Look, the Bills signed Meredith to their 53-man roster off our practice squad -- not Tauscher or Runyan. At least Runyan has been worked out by several teams. Has Tauscher even received a call? Has he had a single workout? The fact that the Bills were willing to take a flyer on a practice-squad player over these supposedly elite "proven veterans" should speak volumes.

Then again, the fact that there's no evidence Meredith gave the Packers a chance to match the Bills' offer might indicate he knew he didn't have a prayer of making the 53-man roster in Green Bay, and for the life of me I can't understand why. Cut Bigby, cut Jackson, cut Clifton, cut any of a number of our chronically injured players. Surely there could have been room for such a reasonably priced player somewhere on the roster.

Not sure about Runyan, what he is looking for compensation wise, Meredith didn't make the roster, because he wasn't ready. Who would we kick off the team to sign him, only as a means of keeping him from getting away.

As for Tauscher, who is going to call him? Well he had a late season injury, and wasn't expected to even be able to start practicing for a couple weeks yet. I would give him a chance, if he is healthy and still has it all he can do is make things better. I might also look at him as a consultant or assistant for Oline coaching.

The guy is smart, and has always had great technique which is the reason he has been so low in penalties. Olineman get called for holds when they footwork is bad and they end up out of position. That didn't happen with Tauscher often.

It could be argued that's exactly what was done for Quinn Johnson. He hasn't been active yet, and judging from some of the comments McCarthy has made, they feel no urgency to suit him up any time soon. So this wouldn't be an unprecedented move.

beast (5h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (22h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
