Does anybody know how to get stats for only Packers screen plays? I am curious to see what the average result is when we run the screen. I repeatedly hear announcers say that we "are a great screen team", or "that's why they are so successful with the screen". If somebody asked me I would say that we are not good at the screen, but I don't have anything to back it up.

Stats masters?

I'll try to pull that up. To be honest I think a lot of announcers are concussed fmor their playing days and remember the Packers of old. We seem to have flashed of success with the screens, but can't imagine we are on top of the pedastal of screen passes. Will be a curious stat to analyze. Thanks for the stat challenge.

Would have to dig to pull which plays where the screens, but since we only have run 3 that I can recall in two weeks, shouldn't be to hard.

The team hasn't been good at screens for some time. Don't think we have been very successful with them since McCarthy took over. Not sure but I think it has something to do with the Oline. They haven't seemed to be able to get out and get the blocks needed. I think the screen went with Wahle and Rivera.

Those guards need to start the mower and get down the line for those nice screen plays. And we definitely aren't going to pull Clifton with a TE down blocking. The few screens we have success on are probably because the defense is shocked to see our lineman trying to get out to the edges, lol.

I'm not just talking about this year. The last time I remember the Pack actually being good at screens was the mid to late 90's. I agree that the announcers are remembering an older Packers team, which says two things: One, it's a shame they don't have anything recent to remember, and two, the announcers need to research the teams more before opening their damn mouths.

I think we telegraph them now. With the blocking these days, if a lineman moves sideways it is either a run the direction they are moving or a screen. don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Don't screen passes need effective blocking? I think they also take time to develop. You need to lure in one side of the defense (ideally due to a blitz) and then throw it behind them when they are in the backfield.

Our O-line certainly has the ability to let the Defense in our backfield but they do it on both sides which is not very safe for our QB.
