Personally, I have no problem with Harris' celebration. I liked it, actually, because I was doing the same thing while yelling "INTERCEPTION!!! GAME OVER!!!!!".....haha.

As the Bears have shown, it's important to have good corners.

In this pass happy league you need guys who can play there.

I'm just glad we have two elite guys and one very good one with upside.

I assumed Harris would be past it after this year but he keeps himself in such good shape I can see him carrying on for another couple of seasons.

If Underwood can develop into a solid 4th CB and we keep everyone healthy we should have some nice depth.

Our problem is at Safety where we are thin and banged up.

I've been on Al's bandwagon ever since he came to Green Bay, and I've never gotten off. He has always been underappreciated by fans here. Up until last season, he always covered the opposing team's best receiver, often one-on-one. Now he and Woodson share that duty. There's no shame in that. Woodson's pretty good too.

Also, I didn't understand why some people thought Harris wouldn't be as good in the new scheme. If you can play bump-and-run at a high level, you can play zone. It's way easier.

I think, in his old age, he must have been having some senile flashback to January 4, 2004.... poor old guy.

Al Harris= Ultimate Warrior...you guys are hilarious.

He is a warrior. He is one of the keys to the Packers organization. Hard worker, big heart for everything that has to do with the Packers. I seriously never want to see the dude in another jersey.

yea Al had a solid game, nobody got behind him and helped on the run some as well, the pick was just a bad decision by cutler but at least he caught it, when he raised his finger as if he was gonna score i remember the infamous playoff game against Seattle where Hasselbeck said they were gonna get the ball and score and he got picked off Harris pointed the same way but i think this time he did it a bit prematurely, he sees Cutler coming and he tries to turn on the jets haha, good play either way just funny to me

Harris played a good game.. but waving that finger at the end was a little over the top for my tastes.. at least in the middle of the field.

"pack93z" wrote:

Cmon, he sealed the game, he has the right to a little celebrating. If there had been players near him, that would've been wrong though, leaving the ball unprotected like that.

But, he hasn't been there for a year, so how can he do that? Sorry, if this sounds like a rascist comment here, but whenever someone says "act like you've been there before" or "I love it, he just gave the ref the ball and acted like it was no big deal", you can always tell that it's a caucasian person. Really, I don't mean to offend anyone here, and I know I sounded like a jackass saying it, but still it's a TD/INT, IT IS a big deal and should be celebrated.

How so... I like fire and intensity as much as anyone, but maybe just in a different context than waving a finger mid play, a game sealing play.

Hell, I scream for our defenders to have a wicked edge to them upon the field.. intimidating the opponent and maybe driving a little fear into them. Hell one of my favorite players in recent years on the Packers was Wayne Simmons, the guy was just plain nasty on the field.

I think the stereotype is misplaced on your behalf, especially when you are missing the context of the comment. Wait until the ball is dead before you lose focus.. then celebrate with joy. Just don't draw a 15 yarder.

For the record.. if it was Hawk, Matthews or Chillar.. I would have the same opinion. I really don't see the color issue, and I am not sure where that is coming from. Now if you used age as a comparison.. maybe.

Maybe I overreacted, I've just heard that a couple too many times recently (i.e. that Ocho doesn't respect the game just because he endzone celebrates a lot). I also think they should only celebrate after the whistle has been blown. But still, it's gotta be hard to wait that long to celebrate, when it's your first INT in years and it comes at such an important moment. I didn't mean my comment in any offensive way, but I still apologize for it.

No offense taken.. no apologizes needed on my part. Your opinion, you own it, and you spoke it. No worries.

Honestly.. for Al.. no harm no foul this time.

It was kind of up in the air on how Harris will play in this scheme(looking from the outside). The only people who were doubting him were the media. We actually ran more zone than usual last season and Harris did perfectly fine. Harris looks like he should be good after seeing the way he played last Sunday.

Why question Harris in space on a zone?

Because of past footage when he missed on a jam or they attempted to play zone.. he his a physical corner.. I questioned could he remain disciplined in the zone looks.

So far so good..
