For those who don't know: Rouse was playing hurt last week. He wasn't even expected to suit up. That's probably why he played so crappy. It was the first time I've seen him look bad in a game. If he's back to full health, I have little doubt that he'll do a decent job. So I'll be interested to hear if he's listed on the injury report.

Has Rouse taken many snaps under Bigby's position?

I think so. On the official depth chart, Rouse is actually listed as Bigby's backup at strong safety, with Charlie Peprah as Collins' backup at free safety. But in reality, Rouse backs both of them up, and he probably splits his time between the two positions in practice.

The article Zero linked says that last week Rouse sprained an ankle and was listed as questionable for the Lions game, but this week he is not on the injury report. So we should see a better performance from him.

In the system Green Bay uses, the Safeties are essentially interchangeable.

Which is pretty neat.

Bigby is a big loss in my opinion. I think he's more important tot he Packers than Roy Williams is to Dallas.

However, Rouse is someone I've always been high on. Time for him to earn his keep.

Rouse's preformance will likely hinge on the amount of time Romo gets to pass. Kampman/ KGB/Picket/Jenkins will have a huge affect on how well Rouse, and the rest of the defense does vs Romo passing game.

The question that I have is, TO and Crayton are a pair of targets for Romo but ARod has DD/GJ/JJ along with a couple of real good TEs and Nelson/Martin duo to account for. How will the Cowboys defense handle that?

the Cowboys D will have a hard time matching up. their secondary is suspect. most Cows fans that I've talked to have acknowledged this. The key will be that we must be productive in the running game to keep them honest. I think our offense will put points on the board with our receivers, but the key to success lies in our ability to run the ball. this game will be won and lost in the trenches.

I just don't see us getting much pressure on Romo due to the size and speed of the Cowboys O-line.
Bigby is a big loss that could make things ugly, especially if Al is having one of his "days of confusion".
