Iv noticed over the years that the packers do not run that many gadget plays over the course of the year (ie. wr reverse, half back throw) the last half back throw i remember is Ahman Green to Bubba Franks a couple of years ago. I do believe that throw a gadget play in there against a aggressive defense like the Bears will keep them honest on defense.

I would think Jennings could run a reverse pretty well with his speed. I am not a hug fan of gadget plays though, the risk is greater than the reward in most respects. I would rather see Rodgers throw the ball 50 yards, or watch Driver break 6 tackles on the way to the end zone.

I've been begging for them to run a gadget play.

Now IMO you shouldn't run a gadget play unless it's in an important time where it could put all (or most) the momentum in your favor. In other words if the offense isn't moving and you need a kick start... or to tie the game up... to take the lead.... or kick the flood gates open and kill the momentum of the other team by getting the point out of reach (or almost out of reach) for the other team to catch up.

Or right after the other team scores. There is almost nothing harder to watch... your team scratch and claw for a hard fought points... only for the other team to score a TD in the first four plays after it. It's even worse when the hard fought points was a FG and then the other team scores a TD. Talk about momentum killers....

But they shouldn't be running one every game... but at least 3 a year IMO. And the Packers did run one... they got Flynn in on the punting play as a blocker... and snapped the ball to him and he run for a first down. I like that play... but there needs to be a couple of more... I would like to see a Nelson or Jones pass...

there is always room for a wrinkle or two.

I'd rather have Dr. Rodgers methodically slice up and carve open the opposition than to run a play which is such high risk.

When you have Rodgers, Drivers, Jennings, and Grant...you don't need wrinkles.

Grant is our wrinkle as of now, when he runs the ball for big gains take that as a wrinkle play. And Packers don't need wrinkles and if we ever ran a wrinkle play I would have driver do that because he has got some moves and major speed.

I'd like to see more screens, although I don't think our RBs necessarily fit that mode. I always liked the old "enema draw" too. And I hated Rosseley's little shuffle pass up the middle.
Ahman Green and Bubba Franks were both left handed, which makes HB/TE option passes VERY unexpected.
MM is an offensive genius though. I'm sure he's got plenty up his sleeve.

When you have Jennings you actually need to run wrinkle plays. How on earth will we utilize all his talents otherwise?
