Gadget plays are usually relied on when offenses stall. If the Packers offense stalls this year, it's either thanks to our offensive line playing poorly or the opposing defense being that damn good. With the ENDLESS number of formations, packages, and plays we have in the book, adding gadget plays won't really do all that much. Defenses HAVE to play us honest and keep their concentration for the ENTIRE game. One lapse and we have the weapons ALL over the field to make them pay and a quarterback that's learning just exactly how to find them. As long as our OL can protect Aaron and get some push in the running game, I doubt we'll be calling for any gadget plays at the end of the season when our offense ranks in the top 3 in the NFL (somewhere with New Orleans and New England), neither of whom run very many gadget plays either.
The one wrinkle I'd LOVE to get going in our offense is the occasional screen. The last time we had a good screen game going was back before 2005 when we still had Ahman Green and the guards who could really pull.
