All i can say is i hope you guys will be happy with Bush playing Safety after Bigby gets injured as usual and Rouse gets hurt. But hey he is pretty good as a ST player so thats all that counts.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Well what about Smith alot on here said he should be starting over Bigby or Rouse but he got cut to make room for a st player now tell me how that is fielding the best 53?

A ST player who just so happens to have a similar skill set to Smith - hitter, not the fastest in the world, not a lockdown defender.

People often get caught up in big plays - of which Smith had a couple. Nothing that Aaron Rouse didn't have in his first two seasons either.

Let's be honest - Smith made mistakes. This is the same man who, in the first and second game of the pre-season, got beat by second stringers and then had to commit penalties to make sure he didn't give up touchdowns.

Yes Smith stood out far more than Bigby and Rouse - but not always for the right reasons.

Let's be honest: do you think the Superbowl Champions would have given up on Smith if he offered them something? He was a third-round pick for goodness sakes. You want the Packers to compete for a Superbowl, but when they shed a player even the Superbowl Champions didn't think was good enough to make their 53-man roster, you complain.

So trading for a guy that couldn't even beat out Frank Walker is a better player? Ted Thompson does not field the best 53 plain and simple.

You bitched when he signed Smith, you bitched when he cut smith, all you ever do is bitch. Even when you're not bitching, you find a way to take some subtle shot, it's so old.

How do you know if smith was a good team mate or not, how do you know that cutting him wasn't to keep the peace in the locker room? By watching him play in a couple of preseason games? You know absolutely nothing about smith, why do you care? You seem to think you know everything but in reality all you know is Ted Thompson moved on from your favorite player, and that was over a year ago. He will never live that down in your estimation so he is worthless in your eyes, must suck being a packer fan for you.

+1 to you sir, finally someone that seems to agree with me about hazer. I'm glad I've had him on my ignore list because I've never seen a post from him that's constructively contributed to discussion. Just hate-ridden libel directed towards the team most of us root for.

Not that I hate you hazer if you're reading this, I just dislike your constantly negative attitude.

I am so surprised how everyone is ok with our GM not putting the best players on the field, but if they can play ST then they have the edge over a better player that only plays one position.

not a big Ted Thompson fan, we shall see if the cuts are good decisions or not, i think he will get a pass because our core players will make our season regardless !!

lol so ... Ted gets a pass because of the players he has built (ie core) for the ones he has cut? 🙂

you're not a coach. you're not a GM. you're not an owner. you're not a player. your opinion isn't shit and blaming Ted Thompson because your boyfriend Favre who took our beloved team to the Superbowl is no longer on the team is childish.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I wouldn't let DH get to yall. I was initially mad about the smith cut but as I read more about his play I had a better understanding about his game in Pittsburgh and here in GB. Plainly put he was more often than not out of position. He was a gambler (ok attribute for a CB horrible as a safety. Safeties are just that ur last line of defense.
But as for you DH ever since I have been on this board have I rarely if ever heard you say something positive about Ted Thompson or MM and if you were to you would always qualify it.
I am therefor I think.

lol at anyone who thinks decisions were made haphazardly without keeping (who are thought to be) the best players for the team, who will give us the best chance to win.

Not even necessarily the best players position-by-position, but the best combination of players overall. Thompson even hints at that in his presser, when he noted that, for example, keeping 3 FBs reduced the number of slots for other positions.

you will never hear me say anything nice about Ted Thompson unless of course he says he is leaving Green Bay or doing a Leap out of the skybox then you will. Also for all you simpletons out there that don't know me need to know i have hated Ted Thompson since day one when he was hired. It has nothing to do at all with the circus that he was part of last year. I don't believe in his 70's and 80's style of running a team. Maybe someone should tell them they have a thing called free agency in the NFL 😛
