So what does everyone think about Jon Gruden as a Monday Night Football announcer? I heard him for the first time this week. I didn't really like him. I hope I get used to him.

He did have some insights, but his booming voice tended to overshadow the other guys. I'm not a big fan of tough-guy routines, and that's kind of what it felt like. Also, because Gruden is so fresh out of the NFL, I don't trust him to have objective opinions. He knows too many coaches and players. At one point he was singing the praises of some assistant coach that he had worked with.

I'm not going to complain too much, though, because he's a big step up from Tony Kornheiser, not to mention Joe Theisman and Dennis Miller.

Too much in love with Brett. Just as bad as Tony.
I am a woman and I love football.

He is as much of a Favre fellator as Gruden or Kornheiser ever were, perhaps a little bit more because he seems to consider Favre a personal friend. The Vikings game was nauseating; hardly a single player besides Favre was mentioned the entire game, even during the second half in which he only played briefly. I think I'm going to watch the Vikings/Packers MNF game on mute.

I think Gruden got a little drawn in on the Favre praising, I will have to see more before I make an opinion on him in the booth though.

I did love the pictures of him back as a Packer assistant. Those were classic.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I did indeed mean Madden. Case of the brain outpacing the keyboard. +1 to you for catching the mistake.

Dream team of MNF announcers are Gruden, Kornhole, and Madden. At least when it comes to a Favre-love fest.

I didn't mind Gruden. He wasn't all that objective about Fav-re, though. I don't know if I like him more than Kornheiser.. I'm one of the few that didn't hate him. I hated Thiesman, though.
