NS is on an applause kick today.. lol..

Gruden is an improvement.. but too brash for my taste at times as far as a color commentator.. but it could be worse.

I miss Don Meredith or Dan Dierdorf in the booth doing color.. it was entertaining with those two.. Meredith was just a clown.

I think that for the duration of this season, MNF announcers should be contractually obligated every time they mention the name of Brett Favre, to either a) forfeit $50 from their game check or b) spend a minimum of 30 seconds commentating on another player they have not yet mentioned during the game. I think that would stem the flow of insanity.

John Gruden would do a better job than Collinsworth. Sorry but Collinsworth needs to go back to nbc studio or nfl network.

I like Collinsworth, for the most part. He's a great analyst. Sometimes he gets hung up on some point, though, and just won't let it drop.

It's funny, I didn't even think to point out all of the Favre butt-kissing from Gruden and the others on MNF, because I've come to expect it over the years. It was irritating even when Favre played for the Packers. It was actually worse when he played for the Packers, because the announcers never gave enough credit to the other players on the team.

It sure the hell was.. to the point where I would shut off the volume.. great player but you don't have to sell him.. let his play sell him.

I remember when the drama first started of Favre retiring. John Madden was all emotional and etc and then he put Favre on the cover of his game. Both Packers and Jets. I still got the Madden 09 with Favre with a Green Bay jersey. Talk about kissing up to sell his game in greater numbers.
