I haven't noticed much different from the RB's, except Grant looks a step quicker than last year, more like he did in '07. I think the big difference with the running game this year is the O-line is blocking better. Maybe that is giving the RB's more confidence so they are being more aggressive.

ya I dont know if grant is quicker persay - I think our Oline is better and our superman fullbacks are even more super 😉

I find it exceedingly difficult to believe that Sutton would clear waivers. There is a dearth of RB talent in the league right now; surely some team could use a backup. Praying that Sutton clears waivers is a gamble I hope the coaching staff won't make.

A quick browse on google news shows that Sutton has been the subject of 8 articles over the last few days: Google News . Thus, I also find it increasingly unlikely that he would make it through waivers.

I don't think he has a future on kickoff returns, but he definitely could provide something different in the backfield. He might lack the blocking power of DeShawn Wynn (the likely cut if the Packers are to keep Sutton as one of 3 RBs), but the most intriguing aspect about Sutton is his ability to 'hide' behind the fullback. He could be a Morris Jones Drew/Darren Sproles kind of back, albeit without blazing speed.

Any update on Jackson's shin. Sutton will make the team if Jackson is hurt worse than originally reported. Shin bruise turns into a fracture. Or the team keeps 4 on the roster. I don't see them keeping just Grant, Jackson, Sutton because we wouldn't have a short yardage back at all. Grant would be the biggest.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Thanks for this.

Sidenote, did anyone else notice in the first half how agressive sutton is? He seems to love contact and i love him for it. Not sure exactly when it happened but it must have been his one and only reception in the first half. Out on the flat he caught a pass near the sideline with 1 defender to beat, rather than following his momentum and just getting out of bounds or trying to run around the guy, he turned in and tried to bulldoze right through him. With that low center of gravity the guy can really use his power to his advantage. Loved it.

Part of me thinks the roster spots are already locked up: Grant, Jackson, Wynn and Sutton with Lumpkin on the PS if he clears waivers.

However it is likely that Wynn, Sutton and Lumpkin will be getting the vast majority, if not all, the carries against the Titans (who play their 1st team in game 4).

That is a huge opportunity for these guys to impress the coaches.

I can't think of any reason he shouldn't match or better his yardage from last season. He struggled thru his injury to get to 1200 last year. Being healthy this year I would think he should get there just fine.
