Yesterday, we beat the Lions 48-25. Yes, it was lopsided, but there's always room for improvement, especially since everyone else will be looking to improve as the season goes on. In order:

1) OL. AR was incredible. The Lions were getting past our OL but AR dodged bullets like a superhero back there. I guarantee you that MM was not happy with the way the OL played yesterday. AR shouldn't have to do what he did yesterday, and our RBs also took some hits behind the line, which is not good.

2) MM needs to be more aggressive. We did this against the Vikings as well. We started getting comfortable and look what happened. 21-3 soon became 25-24 in their favor because we failed to put them away.

3) Safeties need to position better. This will matter when we play teams like the Cows.

Not a thing to improve, but I was wondering why MM kept Ryan Grant in there. What the heck was he thinking. It was obvious that Grant should have been resting on the bench and not playing football. We'll need Grant against the Cows, and we risked aggravating that injury.

Anything else anyone would like to add?

Fully agree, "we let them off the hook" comes to mind.

Also agree on the playing of grant, he should have sat the whole game in my opinion. I'm Impressed w/ Lumpkin and he needs the reps.

definitely the OL needs improvement.

also, i think it's gonna be KEY that we don't always go for the INT but that we TACKLE the hell outta them. bat the ball away, hit em hard, whatever...just don't allow too many YAC's & i think we'll be ok.

Our running game seems like it's back to how it was at the beginning of last season. Tiny glimpses of light, but overall nothing spectacular. Of course, Grant being hurt doesn't help. We really need to be able to run the ball against Dallas to win. I don't want to have to strictly rely on Rodgers' arm to win the game.

That's the thing. Lumpy comes in, gets 19 yards on one carry. Meanwhile, Grant can't get a four yard run. WTF? Pull him and put in Jackson/Lumpy. I just don't get what MM was thinking.

If Wells could get healthy we'd get that flag-magnet Moll out of there. He's a decent player, but that many flags is just unacceptable for a single player.
This is a placeholder

The flags man, the flags! I think we need to assign someone to steal the refs flags just before kickoff. It's getting crazy go nuts out there man.

I'd love to get Wells AND Sitton back for the next game. I don't know if that can happen. Sitton is a big mauler who could help our running game, and Wells is one of our more consistent players.

The Grant injury is holding the team back as well. The good thing is that, at least so far, none of the injuries are season-ending, so there is hope that the team will be mostly healthy within a few weeks. Look what a difference it made having James Jones back in the lineup. A healthy Grant, along with Wells and Sitton, could make an even bigger difference.

Mostly what the Packers need is the killer instinct. In both of these wins, they have let the other team hang around WAY too long. I think it's had less to do with play-calling and more to do with the players being unable to sustain their intensity level. Now, of all the things we could be complaining about at this point in the season, this is about the best we could hope for, but still, if the Packers are an elite team they need to do a better job of closing the door when they get a lead.

I'll address this point by point.
1) I love Wells for his consistency. He's consistently good, and we're really missing him right now.
2) Yeah, we should have rested Grant last week. Maybe MM got greedy and was thinking we could have had two 100-yard runners.
3) I put the blame for the lack of killer instinct on MM . Don't get me wrong, I think MM is a great coach, but he needs to put opposing teams away. Both games we had them backed in a corner and failed to throw that final punch.

The thing is, I think #3 will be fixed. MM 's good at fixing his mistakes. #2 I'm worried about because he looked awful against a team that was awful the week before against the run. #1, I guess we just need to be patient.

Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
