I was disappointed that the Packers didn't have a chance to take Philip Rivers in 2005. Then they took Aaron Rodgers and my pain was ameliorated. 😉

What the hell are you talking about? Having watched over half of Chargers' game last season (not live, I watch Packer games live), I can say Philip Rivers is much much better than Eli Manning. Philip Rivers is probably the most UNDERRATED QB in the league. Top 5 last year definitely.

Neither Eli or Philip is worth their contract, but Philip is worth more right now. Not to say Eli doesn't deserve it after that ring, but...

Holy crap, I feel like an idiot. You're right, Rivers was 2004. To think we picked Carroll instead of Rivers . . . of course, Rivers was long gone by the time the Packers were on the clock, but that's why I was so disappointed: I had been hoping for weeks that the Packers would trade up. Alas, it was not to be.

I think it's because we didn't draft Rivers to be our quarterback of the future that I was so happy we snagged Rodgers. I knew we needed someone to anchor the team when the inevitable came to pass.

I was always of the impression that if J.P. Losman was available at the 25th pick, we'd very seriously consider picking him up. He was taken by the Bills 22nd.
