no update as of this morning according to Tom Silverstein in what he wrote on jsonline

The Packers did not issue an update on tight end Devin Frischknecht, who was taken to a local hospital after sustaining a serious lower right leg injury in the third quarter.

Frischknecht is a very strange name. Frisch means "fresh" or "refreshing," while knecht means "servant" or "menial laborer."

A refreshing servant. Hmmm . . . :downtown:

Sounds German. Could be Dutch as well, but then it'd be a rare name and not too common.

Frisch could stand for the province of Friesland, written in old Dutch. 'Frisch' could be derived from 'Frische' and 'knecht' means servant here as well.

Would make sense that that last 'e' would've fallen away somewhere down the generations. Just like writing Vanden Bosch, while Van Den and Van De is very common in front of last names over here.

Getting way off topic here, though. Sorry.

Well, regardless of what the ethnicity of the name is, it DOES translate directly from German, so as far as I am concerned, it's German. šŸ˜‰

Lol. My guess would be German as well, it just makes for such a weird translation.

Apparently, a bunch of them have gattered in Utah. Maybe we should go there once and ask them. Lol.
