Well, just remember...if you're not a true Packer fan and do not understand he's doing this for all the right reasons, "don't watch". <----lamest response to a specific scenario EVER! Minus O.J. horribly acting like he couldn't get his hand in his own glove that he used to brutally kill two people.

Rock, you might have to alter your routine a bit for that game. Go to bed early, take a few hours' nap, then watch the game.

That being said, I don't believe this game will be the titanic battle the media is sure to hype it up to be. At least I doubt it's going to fully justify the astronomical ratings it will receive. The Packers have handled the Vikings pretty convincingly in recent years, and even with (or maybe particularly with) Favre at the helm, I don't see this changing much. After all, unless he decides to show off, his main job is going to be handing off to Adrian Peterson anyway, not to mention this will be over through the season, at which point it will be impossible to predict his level of health or effectiveness.

Speaking as a football fan and not just a Packers fan here, I honestly don't believe the Packers have all that much to worry about. Play solid, fundamental football, contain the run, force Favre to beat you with his arm. Favre better be throwing lasers on target all night, because we have a stable of defensive backs who will be dying to jump routes and run picks back to the house.

Three predictions for the game:
1. A total of nine turnovers, fifteen accepted penalties, and eight sacks.
2. McCarthy's press conferences the following week will highlight "pad level."
3. I will watch the game at a bar, after having tossed a book through the screen of my television after the mistake of tuning into the pre-game show.

Oh yes, and the Packers will win, 21-20, unless I end up at a bar full of Viking fans. In which case the score will be 20-20.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

And don't forget "tempo"!

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villian" - Harvey Dent

Seems oddly fitting here, no?

I wish i could go but it'd be like a 15hr drive + cost of tickets, etc.
I think both pack v vikings games will be good games, both teams should be pretty solid this year.

I live in New York. I'm hoping somehow I will be able to snag a ticket and I'll take a plane over there to see the game. It's something I really really want to do. Hopefully some of my family will help me with it since my birthday is October 10th(yes, the same as Brett's.). I know it's going to cost me an arm and a leg, but it would be worth it.

I'm from California and was thinking about going to this game too. The tickets and airfare are going to be pricey, but worth it as I've never been to Lambeau. I was just wondering if anyone can offer some tips about weather, good seats and bad seats to avoid in the stadium, what to wear etc. I'm thinking of getting tickets in section 102 row 2 in the endzone. Oh yeah and I read that one is not allowed to bring any kind of bag? Any information would be very helpful in making my decision to come out. Thanks

Was going to purchase tickets last weekend. This was before the Favre announcement. Prices had been dropping and were at $165 a piece. Within minutes of the Favre announcement they shot up to $365 a piece. I am kicking myself for not buying them. Far too expensive now.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

Zero2Cool (25-Jan) : Any reason I'm catching a shot here about my intelligence?
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
