I loved the way our defense played. Seemed like in the first quarter that Aaron Kampman was in the backfield nearly every play.

I also noticed that Obiozor played the majority of the game, apparently they like the guy. I just can't wait to see Raji get in there and start dominating.

Also, I liked how Jolly performed, I just hope that he doesn't get into too much trouble.

I am withholding judgement on the real team performance. Hey - it's preseason and yes, that was the Browns, not a good team. However..

Agreed with just about every poster above. The O Line was hugely improved over last year. The D was fantastic. Considering the trouble the Pack had running the ball (last year), yesterday's performance was impressive. I don't know HOW you can decide which backs to keep - Grant looked totally back on form, Wynn, Jackson looked great and Sutton was a huge surprise.

Thoroughly enjoyable game to watch. The score was a lot closer than the play.

Rodgers TD pass to Driver was very sweet.

O line looked much better.

Defense did too.

Could have scored again on the last play of the game and just blown them out of the water, but well take the shutout.

Gotta like the game though.

ob1 got it: defensive intensity. These guys looked like they wanted to shove it down your throat the whole game--sending pressures, showing fake blitzes--they looked like they wanted to be on that field; that they had something worth defending.

The defense and Donald Lee look like they're on a mission. If they play mean all year, this team is gonna do some damage.

Our new defensive coaching staff is really bringing the best out of our players, and I really like it. Coach Greene is going to hold people accountable, and while the telecast didn't show him much, I look forward to his mid-season antics.

Cleveland Plain Dealer on Browns loss

I always (when we win) like to look at post-game analysis of the team we just beat.

Here was my favorite part in the article. Bitter, I tell you, bitter. :thumbleft:

With time to count the cheeseheads in the stands, Rodgers waited for receiver Donald Drive to adjust his route and streak past safety Abram Elam for a 53-yard touchdown catch on Green Bay's first series.

I like that almost as much as the hole in our visitor's locker room.

If Bishop keeps up that level of play, Hawk may be relegated to passing downs, which is supposedly what he is best at.

I also LOVE the blitzes from the secondary. Not enough of that in recent years.

RB:
Grant
Jackson
Wynn
Lumpkin
Sutton

They didn't give Wynn too many carries, but he did play before Sutton and Lumpkin.

PC you have to remember we play them again in the regular season and don't want to give them any extra motivation.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Obviously you have to be pleased with the team's overall performance in this game. Even if it's the lowly Browns, good teams beat up on the bad ones like the Packers did last night.

Still, I might as well nitpick a bit: :p

QBs: Rodgers looked good, but he needs to get his accuracy back up. Take away his long bomb from driver and he was 4/9 for under 50 yards. Still, it was only the first preseason game, so he'll have time to get it back to where he had it last year. Flynn is obviously the most improved QB. Seriously it's like night and day from last year to this. He has to be making the coaching staff feel a lot more comfortable about the situation behind Rodgers if he should unfortunately go down for any amount of time. Now, obviously Brohm still has a ways to go, but I did see some improvement from last year. He looks more poised in the pocket, but he needs to work on his accuracy. There were a few balls that hit his receivers in the hands that they couldn't haul in, but fortunately with Flynn's development, we can stow him away as an emergency 3rd again in hope he continues to improve.

Crosby - 60 and 55 yarders are hardly gimmes, but for a kicker who had a pedestrian 79.4% success rate, he needs to be hitting at least one of the two if you really feel he's the answer there at the K spot. Crosby can kick the ball a damn mile, but for a guy entering his 3rd year in the league now, you need to start expecting more out of a kicker you actually spent a draft pick on.

Defense - For a group that was missing Barnett, Thompson, Raji, Matthews, Harris, and Woodson, you had to be pleased by their overall performance. They were causing disruption all over the place, which is something that's been sorely lacking the past few years on defense. Still, I don't think the Browns really tested Kampman to much in coverage which is something I expect the Bills to do next week now that they have some film to study of the Packers.

Overall, it was a good feet-wetter, but I fully expect the no huddle Bills offense to really give our new defense a test when the playbooks get opened up a bit more. We definitely have the makings of an offense that can compete with the best in the NFL. Lets just hope the defense can carry the momentum and confidence they built over to this week.

I was glad to see Smith playing aggressive like he did. I think he will end up being a good pick up for us because I see him getting some reps in regular games. Nick Collins plays so physical that he seems to get banged up a lot and usually has to sit for a few plays during games. He is tough enough to last a season like he showed last year but it seemed like he was coming out of the game a lot because he hits people so hard on every play. I am glad to see we have a capable back up in there.
