The memory of Brett Favre is still in the hearts of football fans, but not so much in the wallet. The Favre economic factor has fallen off considerably.

"We did lose a major attraction last fall, August, people came to the game just to see him," said Mary Shaw, manager of the Super 8 Motel on Oneida Street just a couple miles from the stadium.

Shaw says last year was the first in 15 years the motel didn't sell out for Packers games. And this year the only hope is the Vikings game.

"If he's playing for the Vikings it'll definitely sell out around the city," said Shaw.

And it's not just room rates impacted by Favre, its tourism overall.

"How much was he worth to the community? Oh million, millions, there's no question," answered Brad Toll, who heads up the Greater Green Bay Visitors Bureau.

Losing Favre and the sluggish economy are keeping tourists away, but the Favre factor likely will last longer.

"It brought out people that weren't just Packers fans. They wanted to see this legend play," said Toll.

Overall sales last year were down at the Packers Pro Shop with Brett Favre gone. Just how much can attributed to Favre, the Packers won't say, but Packers President Mark Murphy has said Favre played a significant role in the sale of merchandise.

That role has diminished. A Packers spokesperson confirms Favre's name still contributes to the overall revenue of the team,but we're told the Aaron Rodgers jersey is now number one. Favre is in the top five.

Without Favre, demand for tickets is slumping too.

Ticket King has only one Packers game with demand shooting prices up. You guessed it-- the one against the Vikings at Lambeau Field. Prices for end zone seats start at $375, thanks to Brett Favre.

"People are anticipating he's playing for the Vikings," said Josh Anderson at Ticket King.

While replacing a legend will be hard to do, most we talked to agree "a winning season" will go a long way toward stimulating the economy.

As for the Vikings, many Favre fans will be watching as single Vikings tickets go on sale next Monday. But there's still no word from Favre whether he's planning to play
