The Raiders have cut sixth round pick Stryker Sulak, a DE, before training camp has even started. That's a very unusual move, even when you consider that they acquired veteran DE Greg Ellis after the draft.

What's interesting about this article is the comment section at the end where some Raider fans seem determined to defend Al Davis till the very end:

And to add to this one, I can imagine that some still stand behind Davis. He really managed that team amazingly well for a very long time. They went to a SB just a couple of years ago. He has been horrible lately and is making some bad decisions, but he was/is a legend. Or at least, I can imagine so.

It's been seven years now since the Raiders went to a Super Bowl. They should've gone to another one the year before but lost the Tuck Rule Game to the Patriots. Still, the fact is that they got drubbed in the one Super Bowl they did appear in, and they have had little success in the past 20 years, with a steep decline since 2002.

I think this would be a questionable move even if it had been made by one of the best franchises in the league, but because this is the Raiders, there's plenty of reason to think that it's the result of a lack of sound strategy.

Makes you wonder......why did they use a draft pick on the kid if they didn't think he could do decent. Or at LEAST give him a chance to prove himself.
But who knows.........maybe they know something about him we don't know.
