Why would we even discuss this? You actually think the Vikes would trade with Ted Thompson? Don't forget Ted Thompson filed the fake tampering charges and then put in a poison pill on Favre. There would be no way in hell they would even try and trade with Ted Thompson.

How do you think Minnesota moved up and drafted Booty?

That all being said, Brohm has this training camp and next spring and training camp to show he's worth keeping around. If you can't show any significant improvement by the start of year 3 in the NFL, it's time to cut ties and move on.

Going into this season though, no way in hell I'd trade anything for T-Joke. I'd rather use the roster spots to continue to try and develop our own guys in Flynn and Brohm.

I'd take T-Jack for Brohm any day of the week. I keep hearing how we can continue to develop Brohm, yet we could develop T-Jack as well.

I liked Brohm coming out of college but I don't see him being a starter in this league anymore. If we are talking pure back-up at least T-Jack could make something happen with his legs if thrust into action.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Way to early to give up on Brohm. Rodgers was awful in his first two years too. Finally came on in year three. We'll see how Brohm does next year, but right now, he's still very much a work in progress.

I've seen enough of Jackson to know he's not an answer at QB. I wouldn't sign him let alone give up something to get him.

I've watched enough Vikings games where T-Jack started to think he's not going to get any better than he currently is. He's probably good enough to be an adequate #2 on a lot of teams, but no way in hell would I want him as my 16-game starter let alone give up anything of significance to get him.

We invested a pretty high pick in Brohm where he at least deserves a few seasons in the system to try and work the kinks out of his game. A straight up trade for him with a guy who has pretty much hit his ceiling as far what he's capable of would be a frankly stupid move imo. Especially considering there is a possibility the Vikings would cut TJack anyways if they sign Favre and go with Rosenfels and Booty as his backups.

Good thing Ted Thompson don't think like you or Rodgers would have been gone.

If you watched Aaron's progression from his rookie season to his training camp at the start of year three, you could tell the significant improvement he had made. There's a very good chance Brohm may stick around past year 3 even if he continues to struggle. Hell Drew Brees didn't "get it" until his 4th year and he's now one of the best QBs in the league.

You'd just like to think a guy who you invested a high enough draft pick into, after a couple of seasons in the system with OTAs and mini-camps, training camps, and running the scouting team during practice would show something in where you'd feel more justified in your investment on him. Ingle Martin didn't survive past his second training camp in 2007, but there's a big difference between a developmental project you take in the 5th round, to a guy you take in the second round who seems to have all the tools to be a viable starter in the league. Either for your squad or via a trade to another team.

Matt Flynn has made some good strides between his rookie season last year and from all the reports coming out of spring OTAs. Hopefully he'll show enough in camp again where you'll feel more comfortable with him backing up Aaron in case Brohm bombs in the preseason where you'll have to relegate him to inactive 3rd string again.

It'd be interesting to see if McCarthy could turn Jackson into a good QB, but he's already got his hands full with Brohm and Flynn.

See there, a Viking fan wanting our 3rd string QB for their 1st string QB. You KNOW something is wrong when that happens.

Anyway, I don't particularly want TJack, and especially not for Brian Brohm. I'm too afraid that Brohm would turn out to be a good QB in the future.

Besides, the only thing TJack would be good for is the wildcat offense.

As someone else previously posted, I would let the Vikings find their QB of the future instead of us giving them one. Let them try to figure out the mess that is considered the Vikings QB depth chart.
