Hero worship is stupid. I mean as far as having a movie star or sports "hero". All these people do is what their job says to do. They don't DESERVE to be "worshipped".
If you want to have a hero, have it be someone that has actually DONE something to EARN it. Someone thats saves someone's life while putting their own life in danger for example. Or someone that finds a person's wallet or purse, and returns it without taking anything out of it. Or a person that gives their lives to teach young people how to be better persons. Or the Police or Fire fighters.
REAL heroes.

Hmmm, I'll answer that with a statement and a question. How much money have you spent on "nfl packages", season tickets and tickets to football games compared to money donated to the police charity or fire departments?

I historically have given 10 percent (a tithe) of my income to religious organizations and additional donations to charitable groups, whereas I've never spent a penny on anything NFL related (other than the food I eat during the game), so I guess my money speaks about where my priorities lie. 🙂

First, i'll tell you, i have spent NO money on "NFL package" or season tickets. I HAVE gone to a few games in my life though.
I don't have much money, but i HAVE given up years of my life to kids that don't have parents that pay attention to them. I have raised many fine kids that way. I have taken them hunting and fishing, and to sporting events. I have told them to obey their parents, even when they feel they were not getting a fair shake when told they couldn't do something. Even when i didn't agree with the parents decision, i NEVER went against what they said and ALWAYS told the kids their folks were doing what they thought was best because their parents loved them. I had a kid hunt me down that i helped out when he was 15, and is now in his 40's, just to thank me for what i did. He lives in Arkansas now.
I have also returned purses and wallets that i found.
I once ran into a burning building to make sure no one was inside, putting my own life in danger.
So..........do you think i like "tooting my own horn?" Nope. But i KNEW that if i said nothing, you would do like you always do and blast me for NOT saying anything.
Are you happy now? Any more smart ass questions? I KNOW you only did it cause you thought i'd have nothing to say.
