When the Vikings play the Packers (if Brett is QB) and the Vikings beat us. How is that Brett beating the Packers in his mind unless he's flinging it 30+ times? If he hands it off 50 times to Peterson/Taylor, well all he did was prove he's as good as whomever was QB last year when the Vikings beat us.

To prove anything that he's indicated he wants to, he has to have a monstrous game or at least one that is viewed as HIM beating the Packers, not Peterson and the running game.

Brett won the NFL TD passes crown in '03 with limited passes. Once Ahman Green got us into the red zone, Brett came to life and threw short completions for TDs.

Hypothetically, with a monster like AP, Brett can throw 4 TDs in a game while only throwing 20 passes.

What matters are TDs and if Brett throws 4 TDs while AP did all the hard work, it still looks like Brett won the game for the Vikings. Fair? Heck no, but that's how it looks on paper.

I guess I didn't make myself clear? I'm not talking about a season, I'm talking about the game's against the Packers. If its seen as the running game beating the Packers, what has Brett proved? HE wants to prove to the Packers/Ted Thompson that he still has it and can beat them. How does he accomplish that if he's not throwing TD's and the running game wins it for them?

IF ... Vikings beat Packers, Brett throws for 15 of say 28 for something like 150 with 2 TD's and 3 INT's but Peterson runs for over 190 and a TD ... what has that proven for Brett with his wanting to prove HE can beat the Packers?

My post of this scenario has no concern once so ever on the whole season. I don't care about that. If that scenario were to happen, will Brett feel that he's 'won' over Ted? I'm ask, because I don't THINK so, but I would hope so, in the hopes that he just retires and goes away until his HoF induction. lol

If Brett throws for 400 yards and 6 td passes against the Packers and the Vikings win, it proves nothing.

If the Packers win, and Brett throws 5 interceptions, it proves nothing.

I'm not worried about beating Brett Favre; I just want to beat the Vikings.

I disagree. I think if Brett were to throw 400 and toss 6 TD's it would prove to him that he was right and Ted was wrong.

Does it prove anything to me or you? Not really. I'm willing to bet all we care about is if we WIN the Super Bowl, not a pair of regular season games and the stats.

Though I can say those two regular season games will mean a little bit more than the others if Brett plays for the Queens just because of the emotions and bragging rights that will be involved. It won't prove anything but it could easily get under either Favre's or the Packers' skin depending on who wins and how.
