Brett's decision to play for the Vikings DOES effect the fans of the Packers and Vikings lives. It's turmoil everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really, at the end of the day, it's still just a football game. I can think of 10 things more important in my life than whether or not Brett comes back this week or next, whether he retires and unretires. His legacy is pretty low on the importance scale in my house. It will entertain me to see him play again and thats it.

When i say i'm tried of it, fact is, i'm at the point where i just don't care. Anymore then i care when i see Paris Hilton on TV. I also say I wish SHE would just go away. Does Paris Hilton affect my life? Nope. I don't care WHAT she does.
I don't CARE what BF does, except as how it affects the Packers. And as was already said, it's ONLY football!
But this also is only a disscussion site, right? So i give my views, and why, just like the people that want BF to beat the Packers. Why do the BF "lovers" think their opinion carrys more value then anyone elses?
Is there really a "right and wrong" when it comes to that?
It's ONLY opinions, right?

What drives the NFL fans to be still obsessed with Brett Favre?

Is it because he more often then not played the game like a kid on a sandlot? Are we all still searching for that little kid inside all athletes and hoping that they all enjoy the fact that they make millions to play a game?

Is it hoping that he catches lightening in a bottle and goes out via John Elway?

Not just Packer nation, but the nation of NFL fans seem still to grasp hold of the legend that is Brett and can't seem to let go.

It is the only reasonable explanation for this obsession that the media seems to have in reporting every little movement that Brett makes..

Or is it just about web hits and traffic? Brett sells you know..

D'OH... now I contributed to the obsession.. 10 lashes with a wet noodle please..

1. He is one of the top 5 qb's of all time.
2. He is one of, if not THE most charismatic player in NFL history.
3. He's been up front and very candid most of his career
4. The streak. His determination and toughness, his regular guy attitude

Grave - I'm glad you answered Pack's original question because it was starting to go off on a tangent again.

I'll add a #5 - he's such an "every day guy" that folks almost can live vicariously through him. Heck, in this depression, all the more reason to root for an every day guy to make it.

I'm hoping he plays for the Vikings and they win 14 games (losing 2 to us while we win 16) and he throws for 30+ TDs. I'll always love the guy for entertaining me for all these years. Since he started playing football, I've been through 3 layoffs, 2 pretty bad recessions, homeless, through college, through graduate school, had a child, got married, made and lost a fortune in the stock market, played in what I thought would be my final Heavy Metal band, changed my career a bunch of times, and so much else that I could go on forever. Through it all, Brett Favre started game after game, for the Packers except for last year. That's awesome. That's consistent, something you just don't see in football.

Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I haven't watched the pregame shows in years and I don't feel like I've missed a thing
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Love says knee affected him all season, groin injury didn't help matters.

Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : He wad all butt hurt because Aaron duped the media saying he was immunized.
