I am not one to gloat and carry on after a win over a rival, but I have to be honest, there is a little extra sweetness to the win last night for myself a fan that visits the purple people on their fan site.
Think the players were the only ones talking smack about Rodgers and the "foolish" front office for this off season of drama.
Nope, leading up to game all you heard is the Packers didn't add anyone, they lost the franchise when Favre left town, the 07 season was a fluke, etc etc etc. But they took a special glee in the torment that the Packer fans inflicted on themselves over the whole off season mess.
Today, as much as I would like to take a little happiness over the torment that this loss has on that board, I actually feel bad for them in a way. The high expectations have brought a certain feel of doom upon some of the fans in purple.
We can related to this clearly as just weeks ago we had thread after thread of conflict due to the offseason of change.
My point, while it is only one game on the path of many this season, we have many things to be proud of within the Packers, the players, and we as fans.
On the boards, while there is still some discontent here and there, for the most part we have moved on to the new era relatively well.
And I hope when things don't look so rosy and bright after some point in the season where we struggle, that we don't have to relive the type of despair our rivals to the west are feeling this morning.
Call it a reflective mood this morning, but it is what came to mind.
