Mark Sanchez has a tough day

New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez struggled markedly during an Organized Team Activity session today, completing just one of nine passes with one interception during full-team drills, according to Dave Hutchinson of the Newark Star-Ledger.

Per the report, Sanchez repeatedly drew criticism from offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for missing open targets and not reacting well to blitzes.

The miscues havent discouraged Sanchez, though.
It was a good day .. for the defense, Sanchez said. They got after it. It was good, though. For a rookie to play against a defense like this, you cant ask for anything better.

Theyre smart. Theyre fast. They know exactly what theyre doing and they know Im not quite up to speed yet. It was a tough day, but thats what these days are all about. I learned a lot.

Added Jets coach Rex Ryan: Were kind of throwing him to the wolves.
And inside linebacker Bart Scott delivered a few barbs: You still have the training wheels on, Sanchez. Youre gonna get somebody killed, Sanchez.

Meanwhile, veteran quarterback Kellen Clemens completed 5 of 13 throws, a percentage affected by several drops.

Plus, Sanchez has been getting teased for his recent GQ Magazine pictorial and his photos are pinned up all over the locker room.

They called me David Hasselhoff, Sanchez said.
The first thing I would say is that it was two months ago. It was one of those things where youre about to get drafted and youre going to do a shoot with a supermodel, are you kidding me?

Thats one of those you have to do. And the guys even told me that I earned it. The Jets know, or they wouldnt have drafted me, that Im all about football.

I hate all USC qb's names! I hope Mark "Dirty" Sanchez will be Leinart version 2.0 in the NFL. I also really hope Clemmons beats him out.

Sorry dude, If you post was directed at me and my Lions avatar, you've failed. The Lions are not my favorite team as I am merely showing my support for them to improve and attempt to make the North a stronger division like the NFC East and NFC South. I change my avatar almost weekly. Nobody here knows who my favorite team is and I like it that way beacause it keeps the clueless ones and stereotypers from labeling me, allowing me to discuss football with all the great fans here on a mature level. :thumbright:

I find it slightly amusing that the jets traded so much for the guy and who knows if he will start.

We paid alot for matthews in terms of picks; but at least we got some other great picks this draft so if matthews doesnt produce right away we still have other great picks to 'bask' in. Quinn, the 2 OTs, raji and the 6th and 7th round guys.

-I was going to say; I'm going to even like it more when we crush the bears and their new QB- Lots of draft rankers rate the bears draft very high since they got cutler; these agencies dont even care the bears paid so much for him.
