Agreed, the others are for practice and camp only unless one of them pull a miracle out of his but.

We have two TE' that are also able to be split out if needed.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I'm wondering how good that kid is from jennings school - maybe replace martin ... I think jones is healthy now this season should be real good. He was a real threat in 07.

With a upgraded Oline we are really going to give teams a hard time. Cant wait

You raise a good point. My personal belief is that Martin is gone (unless none of the UDFAs show promise) and Jones is on the verge of being expendable.

IMO, Jones is better than Jordy.

We'll see if I'm right in '09.

I too think Jones has the edge on Nelson at this point. He's stronger and shiftier.

I cannot comprehend why we would keep Martin over a quality prospect. I have to think that a barely-better-than-mediocre rookie could give us more production than what Martin has given us in his best season -- and for less than what we're paying Martin.

749 yards for 6 touchdowns in 3 seasons? Come on now.

I want to see Swain and Sammons be given a true opportunity to challenge Martin for his job. Not just the perfunctory reps required to give the illusion of due diligence.

I think Martin getting only the tender speaks volumes of his future with the franchise.. either take it to the next level or we will.

Personally, depending on how some of the battles and prospects pan out on the offensive and defensive lines, MM and Ted will try to keep 6 Wides on the roster to make sure we have 5 healthy receivers any given Sunday..

Also, I think the lesson learned in 08 on the defensive line will add another body to the rotation and roster. Special teamer only type players better light it up early in camp and the preseason if they want to stick.. a spot on this 53 is going to be a premium if my own personal speculation is correct.

Damn.. I wish camp was kicking off already.. I want to see some of the roster battles start to take shape.

I'd keep 6 WRs on the roster + 1 on our PS just because I still have nightmares of 2005.

And yes, '08 taught us to have a deep DL.

If I had the choice to sacrifice depth at either DL, WR, or ST, I'd chose ST, as much as I hate to have a sucky ST, I'd still want depth at DL and WR over ST.
