Ok PackZ where does that leave Jennings ? He would have no contract so does that mean he is forced to sign with GB? I didn't read up an all of it so i really don't know. I'll go off and do some research now.

Here is a great article covering some of the highlighted changes going into 2010... too bad it is on a Cowboy site..

Free Agency 2009 and 2010...

In capped seasons, a player whose contract has expired becomes an unrestricted free agent if he has four or more accrued seasons. In the Final League Year (2010), a player whose contract has expired becomes an unrestricted free agent only if he has six or more accrued seasons. An unrestricted free agent is free to sign with any club with no compensation owed to his old club.

dhazer, sounds like to me that you don't want Jennings here.....is that because Ted Thompson drafted him and he turned out to be a great player?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for clearing that up. I know Dhazer has been talking about Jennings leaving since pre draft days. I didn't think it would be possible but I didn't see anyone saying differently.

2 things:
1) I love Donald Driver. He is everything "Packer people" should be.

He has NO ego. He goes up the middle with no fear. He's had a serious injury and missed one, yes, one game. An injury that scared the daylights out of me and I thought fo shizzle he was done. But he's such a workout warrior and has such a crazy work ethic that he healed and missed one game.

I want to see Driver retire a Packer, not just for personal reasons, but also because you know that even when he slows, he will drop to #3 WR and then eventually #4 WR, but he will still go up the middle without fear and run perfect routes. Driver communicates with his QB, which is something that cannot be understated enough.

2) There is a reason why NFL WRs state Al Harris when they're asked who gives them the worst time. Al Harris is a gamer. He's dang good. Yes, Woody has surpassed him, but I still want Al Harris on my team until he proves he's lost more than a step.

What he lacks in speed, he more than makes up for with that jolt at the line of scrimmage. Look at his stats year to year. No, not the INT totals. Those are admittedly low. The stats I want you to look at are how many TDs Harris allows a year. Those numbers are so low, you think they're a misprint.

Harris is a stud, and until those numbers go up, I want him on my team. They haven't started going up yet.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

He could "hit the lottery" sooner if he decides to sign with us. I think he would want to do that instead of taking the chance he stays healthy and effective for a couple more years.

It would be smart, especially as a WR, to get locked up as soon as possible.

Agreed, but is two more years (at the current CBA state) worth the risk for marginally more than he will probably get from the Packers and sooner I may add.

If the season begins without a signed extension.. to me, it would be foolish not to sign a lucrative deal with the Packers.. he will get paid nicely no matter what.

In capped seasons, a player whose contract expires becomes a restricted free agent if he has three accrued seasons. In the Final League Year (2010), a player whose contract expires becomes a restricted free agent if he has three, four or five accrued seasons. The rights of restricted free agents remain unchanged in the Final League Year.

So he would be a restricted free agent, you don't think the likes of Dallas or Washington would give up a 2nd or 1st round pick for him and pay him big bucks?

Hell look what Dallas gave up for Roy Williams.

dfosterf (22h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (23h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (23h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.

Martha Careful (23h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (23h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
