If OG Rhyan would have played two more offensive snaps over his first three years, he would have played in 35% of the offensive snaps and hit his $2 million escalator...

But instead, he misses it and will be playing for $1.36 million instead of $3.41 million

The Green Bay Packers made it a priority to upgrade their offensive line this offseason. Green Bay spent big on free agent Aaron Banks, giving him a $77 million contract to leave San Francisco. The Packers also added depth during the 2025 NFL Draft. One of Green Bay's young offensive linemen came frustratingly close to [...]

I didn't read the article. Forgive my ignorance. I do think he played nearly every snap other than when injured after Week 8, is that accurate?

The Packers couldn't pay this even if they wanted to according to the CBA

So you would go looking for this loophole to come off another 2 million dollars?

Not me. I think he's a weakness on this line.

No, I wouldn't be willing to lose the cap space... if you find a way to pay that man back (which no, I'm not saying I would do, if anyone would) it should be after his player career, when the money wouldn't hurt his cap space.

I'm just saying the line some are using that the CBA won't allow it, is nothing but a verbal excuse, as they don't want to do it, when in reality, any team potential could (not that they would) for any player that's past 3 years.

Well the simple solution is for you to write him a check for the 2 mlllion. I am happy to contribute by telling you where you can send it. Green Bay Packers, Green Bay Wisconsin. He'll get it. I don't know your finances, but you might wanna take your name off the Bentley speed six continuation purchase wait list if that donation puts you in a bit of a cashflow challenge. 😊😁🤪

This is something that cannot be given to the player by the club. It's in the CBA as part of the rookie contract. If it's the players 2nd contract, then teams have done things to remedy the unfortunate statistical miss.

I wouldn't give him the money either... I'm just saying that excuse is BS, as there is an extremely easy loophole that I'm sure Gute and company already know about.

All this BS about the CBA won't allow it... is just BS.

If the team wants to pay the player more, the CBA has easy loopholes for that. The CBA only stops teams when the team doesn't want to do it, as it's just a written excuse, with ease loopholes.

Packers gave rookie contract Jordan Love an extension going into his 4th year instead of a 5th year option contract... just do the exact same thing, but void the 5th year...

No, I would not give him the money... But it's BS to say the team CAN'T do it because of the CBA. It's the team WON'T don't, because it's bad business and he's not enough of a star to make an exception.
