The Green Bay Packers will make a flurry of moves over the next few hours.
Green Bay is working hard to cut down its roster to 53 players and that means that there will be plenty of cuts over the next few hours as well as possibly even a trade or two.
One position that the Packers seem to have a surplus in is wide receiver. The Packers likely will have to trim down the receiver room and Bleacher Report's Alex Kay linked young receiver Bo Melton to the Los Angeles Chargers in a possible last-second trade.
"Chargers Receive: WR Bo Melton," Kay said. "Packers Receive: 2025 seventh-round pick. The Los Angeles Chargers have arguably the weakest receiver room in the NFL right now, making it a sensible option to negotiate a trade with a team that boasts perhaps the league's deepest group of pass-catchers.
"The Green Bay Packers have a loaded receiving corps, one that has talent well beyond their top four returning weapons from last year. The team will have a tough time figuring out who to keep on the roster from a group that includes Grant DuBose, Malik Heath, Bo Melton, and Samori Toure.
Green Bay already has cut Toure, but more moves likely are on the way. Melton appeared in just five games last year but made one start. He had 16 receptions for 218 yards and one touchdown in the small sample size.
He is just 25 years old and has shown some promise, but he may not have much of a role with the Packers in 2024
