Who are "these" people?

Do you want to be "the kettle" or "the pot"?

Don't tell the team we can't afford to pay a rb 12mil a year, then turn around and sign "an average" running back to a 4year, 48mil contract.

Then turn back around and release a guy who , in good faith, is trying to renegotiate his contract that you totally fucked up by adding void years and restructuring.

Jacobs is also nowhere near an average RB. He had a down year where his new HC was fired halfway through the season and they also had QB carousel. The guy had the most broken tackles. That's not average. Again, it's OK to be in pain at the loss of Jones. Let's just not project that pain into false claims about Jacobs or Gutekunst. I mean you can if you want. I just think it's wasted emotions. 🤷

The void just kicked the can down the road.

The restructuring actually let us keep the contract an additional year, as he was supposed to make $17 million last year.

Getting a bit more on Jones subject, I do feel like only $6 million was a low ball offer... but maybe that was just the starting point and they were hoping to meet in the middle at $9 million or something.
