This is getting old. What evidence could his legal team possibly be trying to secure that they don't already have in hand right now? This seems to me to be a relatively straightforward case. Unless they're contemplating a direct challenge of the law itself, in which case they'll be squashed like flies: the United States is bound by multiple treaties to keep its narcotics laws on the books and enforce them rigorously. I highly doubt an NFL player would want to get involved with a protracted case like that anyway.

He seriously needs to get this trial out of the way. The last thing we need is for this trial to be continued into the middle of the season, and for him to be tried, convicted, and suspended when we're in the thick of the playoff hunt. Jolly needs to stop being so selfish and put his team in a position to know whether they can rely on him this season or not.

I'm all for your right to take whatever chemical substances you want, Johnny Jolly, but not when your malfeasance adversely affects my team. Take your lumps and get this over with.

Yes, this is kind of important. I don't want to see a situation like last year when the DL was exhausted, which in turn exhausted our LBs. Jolly's an important man in our rotation.

Better to get it taken care of now.

Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jollys second-degree felony drug possession trial has been delayed again.

This marks the third time that Jollys case has been rescheduled.

According to Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Jollys new court date is set for July 17 in Houston.

It wasnt because Jollys lawyer requested a continuance, though.

Heres why: Legal priorities, per a court official.

We have inmates that need to be tried first, the court official told the Journal-Sentinel. It was not a defense motion.

Charged with allegedly possessing 200 to 400 grams of codeine, Jolly was arrested nearly a year ago last summer.

Jolly could be looking at least two years of imprisonment if hes found guilty and a maximum of 20 years in jail.

Plus, he could face sanctions from the NFL under its substance-abuse policy.

According to Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Jolly is likely to be suspended for the first four games of the season if hes convicted.

Jolly has declined to comment on his legal situation.

Ive got practice, Jolly told reporters. Im not really worried about that.
