Green Bay sent two of their heavy-hitters to watch the biggest game in the Big Ten regular season. The question is just who they are highlighting.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic , the Green Bay Packers sent midwest area scout Joe Hueber and director of college scouting Matt Malaspina to The Game on Saturday. Obviously, it’s not surprising that NFL teams would send scouts out to such a significant matchup, but ESPN’s Jordan Reid noted that only 13 squads sent out representation to Ohio State vs. Michigan, and only six — including the Packers — had multiple staffers in the box for the game.
If you want a rundown of the biggest prospects in the game, at least in the context of the 2024 draft class, here are the players who are ranked inside the top 100 on the consensus draft board :
#1: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
#19: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
#21: T.J. Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State
#24: J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
#30: Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State
#50: Kris Jenkins, DL, Michigan
#54: Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State
#55: Michael Hall Jr., DL, Ohio State
#64: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
#73: Blake Corum, RB, Michigan
#78: Tommy Eichenberg, LB, Ohio State
#81: Tyleik Williams, DL, Ohio State
#84: Zak Zinter, OL, Michigan
#85: Donovan Jackson, OL, Ohio State
#95: Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan
#100: Rod Moore, SAF, Michigan
Good luck figuring out who the Packers are focusing on out of that list of players, but it’s worth noting that Green Bay has been active in the running back market this year. It shouldn’t be a surprise if they ended up with one of either Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson or Michigan’s Blake Corum. Corum recorded 22 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns on the ground as the Wolverines won the game 30-24. Henderson, meanwhile, turned 19 carries into 60 yards and a touchdown to go along with three receptions for 19 yards.
Outside of the obvious standout in Marvin Harrison Jr. (5 rec., 118 yards, 1 TD), the safety-needy Packers might also be interested in Michigan safety Rod Moore, who ended the game with an interception.
