Small magnets would not be too hard to have in the laces. The balls do have chips in them for analytics.

Would the premise of this be there's a chip inside the ball that when passing between the magnets indicates the kick was good? One problem spot would be when the ball height exceeds the posts height.

Small magnets would have a small pull, and if there are magnetics then it's more likely to stick to the poles, and the idea is to go between the poles, not at the poles, so magical would hurt just as much as they help.

Rumor is that is why the balls are hitting the goal post more. I watch for entertainment and don't bet so it doesn't make much of a difference to me. There are much bigger things to worry about in the world. Lol

I don't think they're hitting the goalpost more, I think we're just paying attention to kicks more especially with media giving the names and sounds like the "double doink".

Magnets? Oh boy. Even the strongest magnets you could put in a football would have to be a few inches away to be attracted to a metal object. And that's if the football was stationary. To change the trajectory of an object traveling at 90 mph you would need something like an industrial-grade electromagnet. The massive kind they pick up cars with at junk yards.

I guess the goalpost could be a large electromagnet. But then you would need a significant amount of metal in the ball. And, you know, it would pull in nearby objects like headsets, watches, mess with people's pacemakers etc.
