But of MM's scheme was for the QB to be responsible for extending the play to look for the bigger play, and those short routes, are routes Rodgers ignored as he's kept that part of MM's scheme, even though he's no longer in MM's scheme.
I don't think Love will be even close to as good of a thrower as Rodgers (which some have suggested Rodgers might be the best thrower in NFL history), but Love might be a lot better at successfully executing what I call small ball, just keep executing the basics and keep getting first downs.
The wide zone scheme, especially the way Kyle Shanahan runs it, has a lot of small ball to it, and just wear down the defense with great execution of things to set up catch and runs.
I believe LaFleaur prefers the Shanahan method, as he keeps wanting to go 2 TEs, but never has the personal to execute it.
