Comes from a Bears account looking at one of their rookies but you can follow Myers easily and well, it's not good. And if you put stock into PFF grades...

I know they want continuity along the line for Loves sake but Myers has been given every chance and hasn't stepped up. It's time for ZT to go to C and put either Walker or Njiman at RT.

Myers absolutely couldn't move that NT, and was the worst graded run blocking Center in the NFL, and was only 20th in pass blocking.

But
Looking at the 4 starting NFC North Centers, he was the 2nd best.

Looking at the 12 starting NFC North IOL he was 5th best in pass blocking. Including a much better grade than LG Jenkins (those way further down than Jenkins in run blocking).

Myers doesn't have to be good, he simply has to be better than the other options. And moving Tom to Center hurts RT spot, which is probably why Tom is not listed as the backup. Runyan is. So if Myers gets benched, it might be Runyan at Center and Newman at RG.

Though, I do wonder how Runyan at Center and Myers at RG would work, maybe just at practice, to see if it helps Myers mentally.

Also, is it just me or does Myers sorta move funny in the video. Almost looks like he's trying to keep his legs short and not from sliding back too much at times, which I would think would hurt his power. And he can't move the NT, because he's not getting low enough and using power, and the NT is a decent bit shorter than him.

At minimum, give Myers 3 to 4 games.

I don't like the idea of moving Zack Tom. I think he's too good of a player to not have at tackle. It would be great if Sean Rhyan showed he was ready and Elgton Jenkins could move to center. That said, I don't like moving Jenkins either, but I think he is easily the best center on the team.

Someone on this site was musing about having one of the backup tackles (Rasheed Walker?) play RG so Jon Runyan could move to center. I'm not sure if Runyan would be a good center, but that seemed interesting. I also don't know if it makes sense to play any of these 6'6 - 6'8 tackles at guard. Tom seems to be the prototypical size for an interior offensive lineman, so I suppose it makes sense from that standpoint.

The best option is probably putting Royce Newman at center. (Sorry, I just had to see how many people vomit in their mouths when they read this.)

In all seriousness, a line of Bahktari, Jenkins, Runyan, Tom, and Walker is probably pretty good. So if they wanted to make a change here that seems like it might be the most logical.

We get on Myers when he as a bad snap but do we think Runyan is better at those parts of the job? Honestly, I don't know enough about offensive linemen to have a good understanding.

And it's not just a one game overreaction; there's been a large number of botched snaps in training camp and Myers never seemed to be on the same page with Rodgers. I thought Rodgers was being a bit of a diva/trying to get Myers up to standard but now I'm not so sure. Also, I was a little too hard on Dillon at times this past Sunday after rewatching some of those clips.

I like Runyan at one of the G positions since he seems pretty steady at it. Maybe they signed Jordan in case they need to shore up the G so Runyan can switch to C if things go south?

In a more humorous note, they did have Jenkins play at C when Linsley went out in 2020 and Bahk promptly had some false start penalties from not being used to his timing.

While Tom played his final two college seasons at left tackle, GM Brian Gutekunst mentioned over the offseason that during the pre-draft process, the Packers identified center as Tom’s best position.

Myers will remain the starting center all season long.

There is a reason Nijman keeps getting benched, and either the OC or OL coach, when asked about Nijman, sometimes guys rise to the challenge, sometimes they don't.

Heck, it looked like OT Walker MIGHT have passed OT Nijman on the depth chart to become OT3.

I would actually buy into this argument more if you used Walker, as he's the unknown, where Nijman keeps getting benched. They keep trying to find someone to bench Myers but can't.

And OT are much more valuable than Center, and Tom is athletic enough to stay at OT, so why make a hole

But to be honest, this preseason, I thought Hanson might of been outplaying Newman and Rhyan before his injury. I wasn't sure if that was because Center might be a tad easier than OG, or if he was actually clearly improved and might be able to beat them. But he got released due to injury, so I assume he got an injury release which pays him for x amount of weeks, after which the 31 other teams can sign him, and the Packers have to wait 6 more weeks on top of that. But I actually wouldn't mind resigning Hanson, at least to the PS.

They don't have the height people prefer, but they can pass block with the best of OTs. So they should play the more valuable position, which is OT.

Martha Careful (17h) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (17h) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Rude!
beast (21h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
