2021 absolutely factors in with Joe Barry. There is zero way we can pretend it didn't happen and solely go upon 2022. Imagine if that mentality were applied to rookies. You balled out as a rookie, but had that sophomore slump, YOU'RE FIRED. They already showed the potential. You have to understand why year one was good and year two was not and if it can be recaptured or if year one was the peak.

The fact MLF had to intervene of Joe's game plans says it all.
now with that said, a even bigger issue is at hand for the offense. We need an OC to come in and take over play calling

I'm not saying you consider what the guy did in PeeWee football when he was five, but to dismiss 2021 as if it didn't happen is ignorant from a Head Coach. I'm just not sure how people can take such a simplistic thoughtless approach to this. We have to ask ourselves, why did the 2021 defense perform better? Did they perform better because the offense was more efficient? Why did the 2022 defense struggle so much? What caused the turnaround, was it bad offenses or was it philosophy change? Why did the Lions game look like the team (and defense) that we saw during the five game losing streak?

You can't make decisions based on the year when you have more data to at your disposal. That's the kind of stupid stuff teams like the Texans and Browns do. Oh you won four games? FIRED!!

Do not get me wrong here. If the Packers let Joe Barry go, I am not gonna cry bout it, haha. I just think saying he saved his job because of that late season turnaround is as foolish as saying he should be fired for the flop in the first half. What message does that send? Oh, you LEARNED from your mistakes. Oh, you ADAPTED and got BETTER ... sorry, can't forget that first half of errors YOU'RE FIRED! It's just illogical.

I feel bad here because it seems like I'm targeting you or going after you, but I have to disagree on your Offensive Coordinator calling the plays thing too, haha. 😬 Sorry! The issue is not the play caller. The issue (just my opinion here) is the play caller is calling plays he knows the QB won't balk, or at least won't throw too much of a fit over. Yes, I know Rodgers said that the final set of play calls were not great. But even the national pundits see the Packers offense looks like it did pre LaFleur.

I agree with you that the play calling needs to improve. I want Matt LaFleur calling those plays and I want him to call what HE thinks is best, not what he thinks is best AND will placate his QB.  Again, I could be ignorant as hell on my thought here, but that's just how I'm feeling things.

As some of the Bears LB said, they had checks and audibles for every situation... as said LB complained about the new system replacing Lovies that they had no plan for certain situations.... but checks and audibles for everything takes time and they Owners and Union (IMO) hurt the NFL by giving coaches less time.

Vic Fangio is currently available (but expected to join Sean Peyton, should he sign with a team).

Ejiro Evero is currently Broncos defensive coordinator and seemingly did a good job, and the Broncos are looking for a new head coach. Maybe we can get him to join if Broncos don't keep him and no one offers him a coordinator job. And he can be a replacement in waiting should the Packers lose/fire Joe Barry or DB coach Jerry Gray in the future (as Gray is also interviewing with other teams).
