I think Joe Barry is going to remain with the Packers in 2023. I'm not voting for this. I'm not petitioning for this. Unless Jim Leonhard makes himself available, I don't see Packers making a change.

I say this because I've noticed adjustments and not just after halftime since about week five or six. In-game adjustments. You mix that in with some of the injuries, especially losing Rashan Gary and Eric Stokes and you still see the defense fighting their asses off? That tells us the coordinator hasn't lost them. Maybe they're fighting because it's their job? Maybe they're fighting because it's their nature? Either way, they are fighting, they are scrapping.

They held the Bears to just 19 points. Not really a lot to brag about there. But you can't control who you play.

They held Rams to just 12 points. They made Baker look incompetent when he played his ass off the week prior. Then Rams team put up 51 points the following week. The Rams defense helped with good field position. Broncos were doing pretty well defensively.

They held Dolphins to 20 points, shutting them out in 2nd half. They have a helluva quick strike offense and they stopped them pretty damn well.

You and I know this isn't a resume that keeps your job. I just fear that Matt LaFleur will stick with the enemy he knows, rather than replace him. Again, unless someone becomes available that he has confidence will do better.

Fans love to blame a single person for all the woes of a team. This is not just Barry, AR12, MLF, Gute or any single individual. Their record was and is a team effort. Guys have taken plays off. Guys have run the wrong route (Offensive and defensive) Some simply do not understand the scheme and what is required of them.

We saw the same issues with Pettine as DC too.

You have a cause to worry if we hold down Vikings and Lions.

But after the last performance against the Vikings, with Jefferson running free amidst the confused and befuddled Packer defenders, I would think that remains unlikely, ESPECIALLY if Leonard wants it, which I hope he does.

Yeah, that's honestly one reason I was hoping the Packers continued to struggle and got a high draft pick.

As I just felt like the Packers being extremely late on adjustments was seriously killing them...

But based on the announcers in the Rams game, it sounded like LaFleur was making some demands on the defensive side...

I think it depends on how much he felt like he was doing, like was he having to step in too much? Or just right amount... I think that's what matters most.

If he thinks it was too much, he might start looking around...

Vic Fangio is available (but rumor is he's going to be joining Sean Peyton in whatever team pick them up)

Broncos defensive coordinator whom did a good job with the Broncos is available (though LaFleur choose Barry over him as he did interview for the job opening).

But also coordinator jobs are hard to come by... and if one opens up, you might have to take what you can get.

MM picked Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers... then had to work together.

LaFleur and Evero did work on the 2017 Rams together.

Also, one of the Rams head coach strengths seems to be replacing coaches ... and one of LaFleur's weakness seems to be replacing coaches... that's something LaFleur needs to improve on.

Barry defines a nepotism hire in the NFL. Doubt the comment? Go "Joe Barry nepotism " in a Google.
