What were you expecting the Packers to do? They paid top dollar to keep their QB happy. Their start WR wanted to play with his best friend and play where his family could see him live. They re-signed Allen Lazard to go along with Randall Cobb and the rookies. The outsider they brought in was the oft-injured underachieving Sammy Watkins.
Injuries are part of the game, yes, but if the WR corps was healthy all season, even HALF less injuries, this WR corps is far better. If Packers signed Christian Kirk to a four-year, $72 million contract with $37 million guaranteed, people would be bitching about that too. Even though, there's no way the Packers could have even offered that contract.
The Packers have so much money tied into a handful of players, it has them strapped. You can't go "all-in" every single year. You have to pay the price at some point. And this season, they're paying the price.
I'm not saying it isn't frustrating. I'm saying, we have to step back and look at the big picture instead of just hyper focusing on the lack of WR talent. You have the back to back NFL MVP. You expect him to make WR's better, not completely miss wide open WR's. I know, I know, no one wants to admit that the WR's are getting open because my gosh, we can't fault the savior Aaron Rodgers, but every week there are more and more clips showing WR's getting separation, getting open and the QB in a CLEAN pocket and hesitating.
And who can blame 12 for hesitating? The OL is getting abused. The morons put a LG coming off ACL injury at RT. Every smart person knew that was a mistake. Yet, these coaches outsmart themselves.
Right now, I'm just glad to see Sammy with the lame hammy appear to be demoted.
I know I said a lot here. Just don't think I'm against you. I am with you on the frustration part. But I just don't feel our WR's are the MAIN culprit (outside of Sammy Watkins).
