Zero2Cool (2h) : The youngins like Alan, Wayne and Dave don't know how to act during a losing stretch. They've never seen it before. 😄

in the Fan Shout area. I didn't feel like responding. I started to create a post only to delete it. I know his comment was in jest. Today I thought I would reply.

For the past month I have not felt like making too many comments anywhere. On this Packers board, on other sports boards. I flip through Facebook or Instagram in less than 5 minutes. When I'm home I turn on the tv, I flip channels and then shut it off. Mainly I read a book, play a game of solitaire or do some housework.

I have a lot to do these days. I was kind of surprised when I saw GB had 6 losses. I forgot or didn't know.

Besides doing things that Rhonda used to do, I see my Mom 3 times a week. (Or try to.) I have responsibilities at church. I have a number of county board meetings. There's a lot going on at the office. Believe it or not sports is not much of a priority for me. I didn't watch any of the worls series. I have not seen an NBA game in years. During the season I might catch 2 or 3 innings of a MLB game but that would only be a couple of times a week.

A big part of the reason is- things are so negative these days. I'm simply not interested in dealing with all the angst and arguments that have taken over our society. It was difficult enough to sit there and try to comfort my wife when she saw the first signs of her hair falling out. When I visit Mom I can see she is struggling to remember her family. GB having a 4 game losing streak is nothing. I don't really care that the University of Illinois football team lost their last two games to get knocked out of the running for the B$G West title. Similarly it doesn't matter to me that the basketball team is looking good. They won twice and I might have watched 1/3 of the two games combined.

Reality can make you see what's really important.  For me, sports is just an escape for a short time.
THats one of the reasons why I try to make people laugh. To try to lighten up some if the negatives.
Hang in their Wayne. I know it's hard with what Rhonda is going through.  And I know you are most likely feeling helpless to "fix" it for her.

There's so many rules you can't even let yourself get excited for a big play because there's probably a flag that will negate it. So, why get hyped? It's really taken the emotions out of the game. For me anyway.

Football is something I look towards to take a break from "reality". When I'm in the Chat, it's hard at times because most are just emotionally reacting in the fiercest negative way possible. Zero thought put into the comments. I try to offer different perspectives like maybe Crosby can kick it into the end zone, but he's instructed to kick within the five so the coverage unit can pin them deeper? Maybe the player is instructed to catch the ball at the ten yard line on a punt if people are around so Packers don't get pinned within the five? There's just so many nuances to this game and it seems we are just so eager to throw spite at whom we have visible -- the player. There's two sides. Often times, I feel we fans ignore that.

I've found other avenues for my attention this season and it isn't solely because the Packers are poopoo. I learned at very young age to appreciate the fact that -- life is short. The pros of being scratching a whole 12 hours towards Football one day a week just doesn't outweigh the cons anymore. It probably sounds weird, but I've found that sitting in my living room, lights on, TV off has had a tremendous calming effect and clarity to my mentals.  Reading what people say about the Packers, or sports in general just erodes that.

I take solace in that some people just need to vent and it's how they handle things. I just can't take heavy doses of it. Maybe that makes me weak? I dunno, but I've been learning my life balances more and more since nearly ending it all.

I have no problem witht hat. I often told one of our former members that this is a good place for him to let off steam. Unfortunately he became too mean to deal with.
In hindsight, I probably should have stuck to my original thought and not posted this. Sorry. I am not sure why I did. Anyway, it's a new day. A new challenge. It's snowing today.

To be honest I really take football as just something on tv and i like spouting off my opinions, but as was stated Football should be just a momentary release from real life. With our world the way it is today it's hard to stay positive about anything. Money is tight for everyone and you turn on tv and you just shake your head at whats going on. This place right here is my release, sure I said like an asshole alot but i know I can come hear and not get bashed for it. We are as was said many times  " a family" I remember going thru Cheesey's moments of need, like now with WPR and hell I remember first coming here when Kevin invited me because I kept getting banned from that other place lol. He told me come on over and speak your mind. Im'm sure he's regretting that now. One guy I miss is Bob from Montana with his stories. In the end remember this is family and the Packers have brought us together.

So just remember you always have someone to release to on here and I would bet if you needed to hear a voice many of us would be there also.

Love ya guys and girls.

ok enough being sappy     BTW they still need to bench Rodgers for Love lol

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
