Local Packers drive down the street almost every day I imagine. The Street (Way) named after him. He never had a losing season in Green Bay.
I type this at the exact moment Holmgren goes 2-10 this year. His fare well song year, after never winning a road playoff game in his long tenure in Seattle.
Question Number One: Do you feel bad for Mike to go out like this?
Question Number Two: Did Brett Favre make Mike Holmgren a far better coach than he really ever was?

1. Yes I feel terrible for Mike Holmgrem. He's a Hall of Fame worthy coach that is going out a terrible way because his team doesn't have another run left in them. I'll never fault him for taking a better job and wanting to be a GM. I would have done the same thing probably.
With that said, I think he'll coach again and I think he'll coach San Francisco next year actually and probably have a lot of control.
2. Holmgrem is a hell of a coach and he proved he could mold a QB into the way he saw fit in Seattle. He did it with Matt Hasselbeck.
Mike Holmgrem has been to a Super Bowl without Brett Favre. Brett Favre hasn't been to a Super Bowl without Mike Holmgrem.
Personally they're a great fit for one another and it's sad that Holmgrem left as quick as he did, but neither really made one better. It was a match made for football.
