Well the past few years have really killed me watching football and I get to the point where I could care less if I even see the game. I used to be a diehard fan and probably still pretty solid as I tell everyone out here I was raised a Packer and that was our history class, Our holidays were the day of the ice bowl and the 1st 2 Super Bowls lol. They keep telling me that I need to switch to the Steelers and I tell them that's not fair to them. They get confused until I tell them that they are so proud of the steelers and I don't feel the same way and just because I live here shouldn't mean I have to be fan. To be honest when I was a kid I was actually a Seahawks fan when they first joined the league because I loved their uniforms. And yes I am old so I remember sucking but I think those were actually the most fun years also. I am guessing the game Kevin referred to back in 89 was the instant replay game on the 4th down winner against the Bears. Look at those fans when we beat the Bears, that was just like winning the Super Bowl. But winning can spoil you and also drain you of enthusiasm. The past few years we get to the playoffs and just felt well who are we going to lose to. The Redskins MNF game was awesome to be at in person and the last time I was at a game in Lambeau it was just like ok I am here so I can say I was and barely paid attention to the game. But people need to remember also that all fans don't have to agree as most know I am done and have been on Rodgers since day 1 but that doesn't mean I'm not a packer fan. but in the long run I will just say I spent who knows how many years here talking to alot of you and I think of you all as family.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

It is a very interesting post. Whether it is the fact we are not playing as well, the NFL in general, or that our very expensive leader is not all that likable I find myself finding other outlets. I still come here and other sites and read the posts, but I am not as active or as die hard. I don't know the practice squad by heart. Who is inactive on game day. I think if we would have traded Aaron it would have changed things, but alas I had a bad feeling when we didn't. The same feeling I had when we gave Bakh all that money.

Football will always be my sport. So I have started watching college. I have always cheered for Syracuse as they are the closest big name University that has produced NFL talent. Their football coaches also come to Ottawa and run programs for the kids here.

I just also started following the University of Wyoming. It seems an odd choice, but I am fascinated that this little town of 30 thousand was the University that produced the best player in the NFL at the moment...who is also very likable. They are like a Green Bay version of University Football.

I will always cheer for the Packers, but I may need to wait until we get some change to rejuvenate my love.

I get pumped at how excited the players seem to be just to step foot on the field. I love all the forward pre-snap motion that is allowed. I like the old-school feel of having the goal posts on the goal line. I like the urgency of only having three downs. I do wish the defense wasn't so hamstrung by the wide field, but alas, hamstrung defenses are endemic to all brands of football these days.

Unfortunately we don't have the talent at QB like we used to. Probably a product of the fact that a QB on the practice squad in the NFL makes more than a CFL starter nowadays. Growing up watching Warren Moon, Tom Clements (who actually played for the teem I cheer for as a kid Winnipeg), Doug Flutie, Jeff Garcia was when it was really good. Still pretty fun entertainment for the money.

I have always watched Canadian University football. My Alma Mater Western has always been a powerhouse team and contender for the Vanier Cup as top University team.

They came back for a few years as the Ottawa Renegades. I was a season ticket holder with my wife as having tickets guaranteed front in line and the ability to have my season tickets as Grey Cup tickets as it was held in Ottawa. That team folded as well.

The Redblacks is the new name of the team as of 2010.

The Eskimos did change their name to the Edmonton Elks. Never heard Warren Moon's thoughts on the name change of the team who he was an all-star.

beast (4h) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (4h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (9h) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (9h) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (10h) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (10h) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (10h) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (10h) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (14h) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (14h) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league
dfosterf (7-Aug) : out on a field trip, outfitting them with little yellow smocks. Most of the little folk were well behaved, but several were like trying
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Yesterday my wife and I spent the afternoon on the waterfront here in Alexandria, Va. A daycare company took about 15 three/four year olds
wpr (7-Aug) : seems faster. yay
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Wife of reason posted on the in/out thread on fleaflicker that both she and vor are in
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : This page was generated in 0.135 seconds.
Mucky Tundra (7-Aug) : Tbh, I can never tell the difference in speed unless it's completely shitting the bed
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Sure does feel like site is more snappy
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
