If Raji and Matthews are as good as billed and Lang and Meredith turn out to be the steals we think they are it would already be a hell of a draft.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Our Insider subscribers have access to Bob McGinn's scout comments on the draft picks. There were some especially colorful comments about Jamon Meredith, the T/G from South Carolina the Packers took in the fifth round. The good news? He's athletic enough to play left tackle. The bad news? His coaches hated him.

Now it makes sense why he fell so far....

So does that make Meredith bad, difficult to coach, etc. or does that make the coaches bad, badmouthing a good player?

I don't trust Clay Matthews, but we'll see. Why? He walked onto the USC campus weighing 161 pounds.

Actually, according to Clay Matthews himself, he came in at 220. I wonder who I should trust?

Hey, if he showed up at USC at 18 years of age weighing 160, or 180, or 200, or whatever, and put on weight and muscle while there, it could very well just mean that he was a late developer physically. These are practically kids we're talking about.

GoPackgo stated his age in the general discussion forum... One of my fellow geezers (Tripp, WPR, ??? Like I said, I'm geezin', too)

Geezer response:

"I got underwear older than that."

That is still too funny.

This definitely sounds like a concern. I'm assuming that the coaches did not hate all of their players, otherwise they wouldn't be coaching, so it sounds like this guy could have some character issues.

As for Clay Matthews, I have no idea why people are writing about him in this thread, but here is a site that says he weighed 160 pounds as a high school player:

He apparently started his first college game at the age of 17.

wrong, his coaches didn't actually hate him, thats just rumors going around about this guy, unfortanately the media likes to speculate and that makes peoples opinions of people change, It was just a bunch of crap made up by the media just because they can.

also about Clay matthews, he was 160 pounds as a JUNIOR in HIGH SCHOOL!!! (which was about 2002 because he redshirted his freshman year), it's pretty easy to see that you can put on 80 pounds in 7 years.

Clay Matthews was brought up because I say what Peter King said about him at the bottom of an article that someone posted in this topic.
