I see grades the same as mock drafts. They're a shot in the dark, and mostly for fun. McShay gave us an A as well, and I think Clayton did too. I like the Matthews pick most of all, I think he will be a beast blitzing from the side.

Ok no offense but im laughing here, I just threw out Kipers opinions he gave the Jets a grade of A- lol, also gave the Bears a B for drafting.

I'm not watching it. How many "A"'s did he give out Dhaze?

"dfosterf" wrote:

Well he gave the packers A

bears
B

Lions
B-

Vikings
c+

Pack got the only A in the NFC and he is getting bashed by the other guys.

He gave the Pats a C lol

Ok Kiper has a hard on for Sanchez he lowered the Seahawks to a C because they didnt draft Sanchez lol

The other guys are saying the Eagles had the best draft in NFC and mark slurpy says Giants had the best draft in the NFC

Green Bay Packers
Picks: DT B.J. Raji, LB Clay Matthews, OT T.J. Lang, FB Quinn Johnson, OT Jamon Meredith, DE Jarius Wynn, CB Brandon Underwood, LB Brad Jones
Positives: Raji, Matthews, tackle prospects
Negative: Could have used a more highly rated cornerback.
Bottom line: A.
Almost all the team needs were addressed in some way. Nose tackles in the 3-4 scheme are at a premium, and the Packers had a great one fall in their lap in Raji. Matthews has a ton of versatility and adds another badly needed piece in the Packers scheme change on defense. The two tackle prospects are something to work with long term.

Green Bay Packers: The Packers got the best defensive tackle in the draft in B.J. Raji, who is stout enough to play nose guard and athletic enough to line up over the offensive tackle in Dom Capers' new defense. Speaking of positional versatility, the Packers also got the best combo pass rusher-pass defender available at the outside backer position in Clay Matthews. Eastern Michigan's T.J. Lang and South Carolina's Jamon Meredith will provide further competition to an offensive line that took a step back last year.

I love the Bears draft. I'd give them a B too.

Lions are a C that will be an A if Stafford is good or a D if he's not assuming they get a few other players to play.

Vikings are average too.

Kiper is good at what he does. I don't agree all the time, but he does know his stuff.

I had to laugh when ESPN pulled comments that Kiper made out of the archives to show he was right. They totally ignored all the calls he has gotten wrong over the years.
Looked like a PR move since so many fans have given him flak over the years for the things he got wrong. ::roll: lame.

David - I thought with a few patches last year we had the potential to be a Playoff team. Keep in mind we had the #5 O. Yes, we were 6-10 but we also scored more points than our opponents and when we lost, it was generally by a TD or less.

2 1st round picks for D, and they're the 2 areas we're weak.

Plus, we got a few STs guys; something we needed. I would have liked a KO guy, but that didn't happen.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this draft.

Right. Look at how many times GB scored in the 4th Q to take the lead. We then had to watch the other team systematically march down the field (matriculate?) and scored to win the game. Gut wrenching.
That will not happen this year.

SI.com's Ross Tucker graded the Packers' draft as "Loved It," his equivalent of an "A." He had this to say:

Green Bay Packers: The Packers got the best defensive tackle in the draft in B.J. Packers fans are fickle as hell.

So, how quickly can one draft class change public opinion?

At least in Green Bay, the answer is quite a bit even before the draftees have taken the field.

In early April, a poll |conducted on the Press-Gazette Web site showed General Manager Ted Thompsons approval rating at a paltry 25.8 percent.

The same poll was conducted for three days after the draft, in which Thompson selected Boston College nose tackle B.J. Raji at No. 9 and traded up to select Southern California outside linebacker Clay Matthews III at No. 26.

Thompsons approval rating in the second poll: 74.5 percent.

There is no way on earth a GM's approval rating should practically triple after a draft alone.

I would wonder about the credibilty of both polls.

Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : BALL DON'T LIE

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
