Yesterday in the live chat, Nonstopdrivel asked me what I thought our grade was for the draft. I believe he asked the question prior to our 6th round selections.

I said "A".

He said that the pundits are extremely stingy in giving out that type of grade, and I agreed. I then told him (jokingly) that I promised that I would in fact find that grade issued to the Pack, even if I had to cherry-pick the entire World-Wide-Web.

I started my search this morning, starting with ESPN, and sure enough, the pundits ARE stingy with that "A" grade. Only one team in the NFL got it in my very first search. Now just take a wild guess who that might be...

Mel Kiper Grades the Draft

OK, OK-- I know the grade means pretty much nothing, and I know that Mel is not the most beloved or respected prognosticator, and yes, I did downgrade to a "B" when it was all over, but it IS satisfying to see at least one "expert" see what I see, plus, you see, I get to say, "You see?" :thumbleft:

I liked our draft.

Then I seen that Mel gave us an A.

Now I'm concerned.

I liked our Draft. Personally I thought the Bills, Bengals, and Texans improved their team the most. I guess it'll take a few years to see.

Well, I'm just glad that the general consensus is positive. Usually we're left scratching our heads over our picks.

All in all, I to would give it a solid B at this point. Assuming significant playing time for Raji and Matthews, and one of the Oline prospects winning a spot, then I would upgrade to the A.

After studying the two Olineman in the draft and just brief overviews of the remaining kids.. I give us a A- to an A...

Wynn is the only pick that makes me go, what?

BTW.. I love the fact that we are rebuilding the Linebacking core.. absolutely love it.. Better strap on those helmets boys.. because they are going to get after it in camp.. damn I wanna play.

I thought it was a B. Couple of players who will make an impact immediately. (Raji, Matthews) Three players who can grow into becoming a starter this year or in the next couple of years. (Johnson, Lang, Meredith) A couple of players who may work out in the long run but if they don't there was not a lot invested in them. (Wynn, Underwood)

I think Wynn was a Dom Capers lobbied-for-pick, or possibly ST lobbied for pick.

Isn't he what everyone calls a "tweener"?

This selection is very Ted-like, and imo we are going to hear a ton of positive reactions from the media when he hits the practice field. (At least this is how I am leaning) I also predict that when the euphoria dies down, this pick is going to be the most scrutinized.

High motor guy.

Weight bugs me. 40 time bugs me.

He is REALLY a tweener...I have no place for him "on paper", but I readily admit I am a "paper" picker. Ted is drafting for the NFL, not my fantasy league.

Wynn's obviously a project - they seem pretty confident that he's got the right kind of frame to bulk up, and he can certainly rush the passer early on when they line up in 4-3 configs.

Not a bad pick, IMO - he could wash out, but he could also bulk up and grow into a great DE for us.

The "what" is where does he play? Definitely not fast enough (5.03) to play outside and not bottom heavy enough to the play the 3-4 DE out of the gate.. A monty type player without the burst... For where they picked him.. I have no problems taking a flyer on guy...

Just reading a touch about him.. it is where does he fit.
