People hated drafting Gary until suddenly he got the playing time in year 3 and showed he has something. People loved 2018 draft when they got Josh Jackson (A first round pick in the second round.) The same people hated wasting the first round pick on JA. Back in 2016 Kenny Clark didn't look all that special and some (Many) were willing to throw him under the bus.
Rookies almost always look bad. They only get better with time. Love has had no on the field time at all. There is no way to develop without getting real playing time. You can only do so much sitting in a classroom or on a practice field.
Aaron Almighty looked lousy his first two seasons. He got a little playing time his 3rd season and it helped. It wasn't until his 5th year in the league that he really started to show that he was something special.
As far as this topic, I wish we had the real information about Aaron's contract. It seems as if there are several options out there depending on who they bring back.
