Driving into work I overheard some guys on the radio talking about Aaron Jones and elite RB's. Do you think he's a top five RB?
• Derrick Henry
• Christian McCaffery
• Dalvin Cook
• Nick Chubb
• Alvin Kamara
• Josh Jacobs
• Joe Mixon
• In addition to Jones, I think those RB's are top five consideration. Mixon being a fringe.

What I want from a RB is someone who can pass protect, who rarely gets tackled for a loss, who can take it the distance and can also be a receiving threat out of the backfield.

Keep in mind, I am not saying Jones needs to be top five for the Packers to be successful or win a Super Bowl. This is just during the week fodder talk.

Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffery, Nick Chubb and Alvin Kamara are my top 4.

I haven't watched enough of the non-playoff AFC teams to know about Josh Jacobs or Joe Mixon... but I did love Jacobs in the draft, and thought he was worth a 1st rounder which is rare for me with RBs.

Considering there is only one spot left, I'm gonna have to guess no Jones is not top 5, just the law of probability to get that one last spot, but I also can't say I see anyone as clearly better than him for it either.

So I'm saying I see Jones as 5th, 6th or 7th best RB in the NFL right now... with his top three issues being he doesn't have power, he doesn't have elite speed and he doesn't have a QB that likes to check the ball down (the last one is not his fault). On the plus side, he has an offensive system that uses his quickness to his advantage for mismatches.

Jones has elite quickness and his small size is helpful in that he's harder to catch when he has space to move.
