During a press conference, Coach LaFleur said the preseason will tell the team what the bottom portion of the roster will be. Who do you think are going to be the bottom 8-10 players?

Yeah but I think that's true most years, usually reasonable thought that study the roster close can tell whom top 40 or so locks will be.

Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Bak, Z Smith, Jaire. Oh wait, you said the bottom 8-10.

In no particular order:
Patrick Taylor and Kylin Hill RB
Malik Taylor and Juwann Winnfree WR
Ben Braden OL
Dominique Dafney TE
Jon Garvin OLB
Oren Burks and Issiah Mc Duffie ILB
Kadar Hollman, Kabion Ento and Josh Jackson CB (Jean-Charles is close but gets the nod of the ones listed.)
Henry Black S

A few of these are closer to 54-60 than they are 45-53. I'm guessing Burks and Jackson are gone.

Trying to figure out the top 45.

Beast's Top 38 (Locks)
QB: (2) Rodgers, Love (2)
RB: (2) Jones, Dillon (4)
WR: (5) Adams, Lazard, Valdes-Scantling, Cobb, Rodgers (9)
TE: (3) Tonyan, Lewis, Deguara (12)
OL: (7) Bakhtiari, Turner, Jenkins, Myers, Patrick, Runyan, Braden (19)

DL: (4) Clark, Lowry, Keke, Slaton (23)
OLB: (3) Z. Smith, P. Smith, Gary (26)
ILB: (2) Barnes, Campbell (28)
CB: (5) Alexander, King, Sullivan, Stokes, Jean-Charles (33)
S: (4) Amos, Savage, Redmond, Black (37)

ST: (1) K Crosby (38)

Likely 7
TE Sternberger (starts off on the suspended list)
OT Kelly (need a back-up OT)
OL Newman (young, cheap, good potential)
DT Lancaster (cheap solid depth)
LB Burks (for his STs)
P Scott (need a P)
LS Bradley (need a LS)

This leaves the Packers with 22 on O, 20 on D and 3 on STs for 45 total. Average roster numbers wise, they need another RB, OLB, ILB and CB which would take up 4 of the remaining 8 spots. Leaving 4 spots for the best of the rest.

Great analysis...as usual.

My only small nit in your reasoning (and you have a fudge factor of four) is that I think they are likely to keep 8OL for the longer haul....its a long long season and those guys can not be easily found late in the season when injuries occur.

Are they keeping Burks over Kamal Martin? Seems like they're giving up on Martin pretty fast.
