Wow......every time i think of "bust" QB's, his name comes to mind. It does because i have several of his rookie football cards, and how they meant alot back then when you pulled one from a pack.
I always wondered what happened to him.
I think he could have been big, if the drugs were not there.
Plus his attitude........the "I made it to the big time, thats all i wanted to do" helped kill any long time future he had possible.

Every time I hear Todd's name, I remind myself to not follow in his fathers footsteps.. driving your son past any logical norms of helping him become a better player and athlete. Have a healthy balance between pushing him and supporting him.


Then I make my son hit the sled another dozen times.. then onto the tackling dummies. ;)

Seriously, there is a lesson to be learned with his story..

I got to read this yesterday, but never commented.

This is what happens when YOU make the choices for your children instead of letting them choose for themselves. They never learn to make decisions on their own, and when they start making their own decisions, they're really bad.

I've seen this all the time. Children of overprotective parents getting pregnant in high school, getting addicted to drugs, etc.

If he hadn't been a pro football QB, he'd be just another drug addict.
